Wasabi peas are my current favourite snack. I've been through lots of supermarket own brand ones, just picked up on the weekly shop, but it appears they do not give the same eye-watering kick anymore.
So i'm after recommendations for some better wasabi peas, the type where only a few peas give the right effect, not having to guzzle by the handful.
C'mon then, whats good then please?
Buy some wasabi paste and marinade the peas in that first...
hmmm- that would do it ๐ !
That does make me think that I should make my own though.

Have you tried the new 2.9mm radius ones?
They roll around the mouth much better then the old 2.6mm ones and spread the flavour a little more evenly.
I must admit I was sceptical at first, but don't think I'll be going back to the old ones.
Wasabi nuts were my particular favourite whilst living in Taiwan 8)
Have a look in your local oriental supermarket and see what they have.
Kasugai seem to be a bit more hardcore than the supermarket offerings from my recollection.
Spicy roast peas and also spicy chick peas are my current snack of choice, a massive bag of them is about a quid from the local indian supermarket.
I wish they did wasabi peas there!
Marks and Sparks are good.
Also check out some dry roast peanuts called Daves.
My mate Nigel currently has his hands on Daves nuts.
Kasugai has it so far.
I'd forgotten about Daves nuts. Been a while.
Tesco's Wasabi Peanuts is where its at...
Got some wasabi peas the other week. Think they were the Julian Graves ones. Good enough to get that mustard nose sting and eye water. Need to pop a few in at once though.
It's all about the 2.75mm radius. All other pea sizes are dead
2.75mm? pah- that's barely bigger than a 2.6mm pea. You'd never get an appreciable extra amount of wasabi on them.
Could never understand eating wasabi, it has exactly the same flavour as cheap hairspray. ๐

Having never eaten hairspray cheap or otherwise I can't say myself but I do like Wasabi.
It wasn't intentional on my part, I assure you.
Out of squirty cream?
