MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
We recently moved house and don't have an Ikea nearby so when we wanted some additional photo frames to match the ones we already I ordered them from the Ikea online. The postage was a little to steep to someone used to free CRC, Wiggle, Amazon deliveries but a damn site better than a 200 mile round trip.
The frames arrived a week later and one was broken - the Parcel Force delivery driver had told me that I had to accept delivery and that they had had many issues with Ikea deliveries. The packaging was not up to the job at all with three frames loose in a large box with just a air bag that didn't hold them in place.
I then tried to ring Ikea (not a freephone number) and finally got through after 3 attempts, 90 minutes on hold and having been hung up on twice when I had finally got through. I was then pretty much told that it was my fault for not using the online chat to contact them, a new frame would be dispatched. 2 weeks later the frame still had not arrived so I tried the online chat but gave up after 3 attempts over 45 minutes despite continually being told I would be connected in a second.
So then I wrote a snotty letter to their customers services. This finally got them to ring me with a kind of apology - apparently they have a new phone system.
So just now the replacement finally, arrive 4 weeks after the first delivery, this time it was delivered by DPD and it was just wrapped in brown paper and therefore was of course broken. I mean brown paper on a courier delivery service - what did they think was going to happen?! This time I refused the delivery.
This isn't a rant so don't bother marking it - just a warning to others. I don't really care for a £5 photo frame but others may order something more valuable.
On the bright side I never liked Ikea anyway so this should be enough ammo to convince my wife that we should never go their again.
Thanks for the heads up. Though, I reckon I can't ever see myself buying photo frames online from Ikea. 😀
Lifes just tooo short for this shite !

Did no one mention "location, location, location" when you moved. 🙂
Pretty much sums up Ikea's attitude to customer service. They must be the only store in the world to close one lane of self service tills and make customers queue up to use the other set just so they can get away with a single person supervising them.
Where on earth in the UK could you be not to be within 100 miles of your nearest Ikea?
and why not just buy the frames locally, surely not every frame needs to match

Hmm first fail, never accept a damaged package.
