Mine is currently only short of a bit of string to turn in into a handbag, full of unimportant crap.

Can anyone recommend a 'card only' wallet that's slim fitting?

Ta

No idea what they are like but kept getting ads for them on here. IIRC they were expensive.

its important for small wallets to be expensive - otherwise theres not enough room in them for all your money

Those Bellroy wallets do look nice. My last wallet was bought on an Italian market about 12 years ago. If a Bellroy wallet lasts that long it won't work out expensive overall.

They even did me a custom one for no extra cost. It's 2 years old now, looks better with each passing day

Jimi wallet. About as minimalist as you can get, only holds five cards, but that should be enough for most. Carries money in a clip on the other side.
http://www.thejimi.com/store/wallet.php
Also available from Amazon, etc.
Love mine, wouldn't be without it, carries my driver's licence, Oyster Card, work security pass card, bank and building society cards. All I need, in one small, neat package.

I had a Jimi. It fell to bits in less than 3 years, need a replacement - watching this thread with interest.

I have had a belroy for a good couple of years now, certainly not cheap but the leather and stitching is immaculate, really well made and showing no signs of wear at all, well thought out design which just works, nice features and hide away pockets, I have a pocket book slim, personally think they are good value for money

I hated my Jimi, I felt like a kid with it.

I have a Dosh now...only holds three cards and notes, which is enough for me (1 debit, 1 credit, I DL)

After having mine nicked two years ago I decided to stop using a wallet and just carry what I need at the time. Thought it might be a pain in the ass but its been great not having to worry. Truth is you don't need to carry all that shit around with you.

Just ordered a hide and seek from Bellroy - couldn't quite face going for one of the more minimalist ones just yet. As above as long as it lasts it will be reasonable value.

I carry mine, including the paper part because I sometimes have to hire cars and travel at short notice.

Aah... a thread that I can post on with a bit of authority.

Was a long term wallet hater until my better half insisted that carrying cards and money loose in my pocket was stoopid.

Got one of these and my life has been immeasurably improved. It's leather and slim enough to fit in my back pocket. Job done!! (Oh, and it was only 8 and a half quid....)

ID, proof of age and proof of address on one card. As well as proving you can drive. Useful. 🙂

I carry 3 cards, two debit and my driving license dats it.
Can't see the point of carrying masses of cards, you really only need one, clearly your debit card.

I use Raphas wallet (the black one with pink zip) and I fill it with my 3 cards a huge wad of caaassssshhh and my iPhone.

It fits everywhere I want it to go.
🙂

Does anyone use a Tweed or wool wallet?
They look nice but I doubt that they're robust enough to last a few years

I have one of these at the moment. It's lovely.

Contains the following cards - Debit, credit, AA and BA. And a lottery ticket that almost certainly won meeeeeeelions of pounds a few weeks ago, but I haven't checked it.

£300 for a wallet! You could buy a bike for that.

Grum, was just over £100, if I remember right. My last one, from the same place, lasted about ten years, so money well spent if you ask me.

Ah ok. I looked at their website and that one appeared to be about £300 but maybe I got the wrong one.

I've had All-ett wallets for years.
Really thin because of how they arrange the cards.

[img] [/img]

http://www.all-ett.com/mens-wallets/classic-leather-original-wallet.html

The way they’ve all failed is by the raised numbers on the cards wearing through the sailcloth-type fabric on the inside of the wallet.
Current one is about worn through, I’m thinking of a duck tape repair in the short term…

Grum, some of the uber-bling ones are, but I'm not too sure I could carry off a lizard skin lining, to be honest!

I've got an ultra-thin one I bought in the states about 15 years ago and while it's coming to the end of it's life it's done very well. It holds 6 cards and cash but it is a bit short for the UK note width so £20s get a bit crumpled at the edge (Dollars are all the same size and slimmer than our notes).

Been looking for something decent for a while now and those Ashdown ones look great. Will have to bookmark it for when mine does finally give up the ghost.

I have an ancient leather billfold, which holds to much stuff but it's a bit of an old friend. Cerrito or something similarly non-flash.

I was given a Calvin Klein billions years ago but it languishes in the drawer boxed and unused due to the rather naff repeated "CK" embossing all over it.

I quite fancy one of these Bond & Knight origami wallets but don't know what the quality is like. Not too expensive either.

EDIT: if you think those Belroys are pricey, then the Bond & Knight will be too much.

Oh, and I have a Lacoste card holder, which is as slim as they come. Paid about 15 quid in a sale, I think. Like this: linky

I bought one of these for a fiver in Guatemala. It is slim and has lasted nicely for 2 years so far with no signs of falling apart. I'd certainly get another.

Why do people carry their driving
License everywhere?

Never been to pick up a parcel from the post Office and been asked for ID then. I particularly like the Jimi because it attaches easily to a lanyard, making it easy to drag out, something I have to do probably dozens of times a day, just to get upstairs at work requires a security pass, and to gain access to my work area as well, so every time I go in and out I need to use my pass, and having it around my neck is a liability when running machinery.
They do break, eventually, but I broke an expensive Oakley wallet a year after I bought it, so I don't mind replacing a fairly cheap wallet every few years, because it's so damned useful.
I do have instructions for making a duct-tape wallet, I might have a go sometime.

Wholesale price on most (none bling wallets) is about £1.50 - £3.00 BTW so those paying more than a £10.00 have more money then sence.

Just saying like 😀

Pah, £100 and it only lasted 10 years! I'm still using a feebee company branded thing given to me in 1991 when I joined Nortel!
