You're looking for a "VESA mount." It's a standard.

(like, that's literally what the 'S' stands for)

I have a couple of VonHaus ones from Amazon which were dead cheap but very solidly built. Used Rigifix anchor bolts and they take my weight.

Mine only extend out to about 350mm but it looks like they do some bigger ones.

Cheers, are they all VESA? The spacing on the back for the brackets is a bit weird 400mm * 300mm - most of the VESA ones seem to be equally distanced

You’re looking for a “VESA mount.” It’s a standard.

The "standard" bit is just the hole spacing on the TV, it doesn't define how it fixes to the wall or how it tilts or swings out on the mount so "VESA mount" doesn't help that much.

FWIW (not much I suspect) the VonHaus one I've got is well made and was very reasonably priced. It only tilts though, it doesn't do anything tricky. Mounted using Corefix, you'll be wanting something beefy for yours, a plasma 42" is quite a lump.

400*300 is VESA, you should be able to find something. Like this for example.

Thanks, just went with that invision one from amazon, got really good reviews. Just hoping it comes out far enough but think it will just about be ok.

I've got the Invision one, used for a TV in the alcove to pull it out and angle it a bit. Had it for 7 months now and it's a solid bit of kit.

I can't believe the prices that some brick and mortar shops charge for wall mounts. It's crazy!

I have both a Vonhaus flat mount against the wall and in another room use an Invision double arm mount.

Both are brilliant and a lot cheaper than a lot of mounts that are available.
