Anyone using a Tivo with an old tv - i.e. one without hdmi?
Current tv is over 10 years old but works fine. It has 2 scart connections and nothing else.
Not fussed about HD tv at the moment, I'd just like the ability to record.
Dont you just use a converter cable ? (HDMI - Scart)...
Does the start socket on the back but work?
Don't use it but the my Tivo box has a scart port at the back, so there's no need to use a converter cable.
Thanks, I know it has a scart port but the couple of forum posts I found mention something about composite rather than rgb (not sure what that means).
Just wondered if anyone had actually tried it.
Rgb stands for red, green, blue which is what you need for better picture quality. Rgb connections have all 21pins available as opposed to 3 on with inferior composite connections.
Works fine straight out of box with scart lead, no need for any converters or faff
This is how we used it for about 18 months until recent Comet closure enforced TV upgrade
That's the kind of reassurance I was after, cheers.
