Where the %&*@ is it!! I have read on official website but I'm having no luck. It is an 2008 copy and I'm on a mac. In autocad there is a specific trim/extend tool.

Trim is in the Basic Tools or Shift-Option-L.
I've not heard of extend. Can't you just use the Object Info palette if you need to do it by a specific amount?

IIRC Select all the lines to be extended, choose the Connect Combine tool in Single Object Connect mode, hold the Option key, click on the end point of any of the lines to be extended, click on the line you want them extended to. Haven't used in about 18 months, though.

This is what I have done, works okay.
Also baldy suggestion works fine, I was not holding down option key before.
