is it known that it was a protestor who was shot, and not a Capitol staffer?
If I may, to me it doesn't matter which, they're still a victim of a tragedy.
With the stakes like this, someone will need to be held culpable.
There’s a lot of talk of invoking the 25th (removal of trump) coming from various us politicians, not just democrats either but I guess such an action would just engender trump to his supporters.
I think he’s going to be removed early, and Pence will stand in ‘till the inauguration. Someone sane (whatever their politics) needs to be at the top ‘till then.
Hopefully the Republicans and Democrats have had a chance to consider some bipartisan action while hiding together as a potentially armed insurrection incited by Trump roamed the halls of the Capitol.

I agree, but was responding firstly to the comment about 'being the officer who had to make the decision' - I genuinely don't know who / where it is known it was a policeman/security person.
Secondly - if it was a protestor shot; that's a tinderbox for the protestors and the fact that the news has not resulted in escalation makes me think it's clearly either not known, or not a protestor.

CNN reporting a source in the GOP that as Trump has stacked the cabinet with fanatics (more than just allies, people who are more loyal to him than the country) so forcing the 25th is unlikely.
