Yep, that's exactly what they're trying to say. Did you not see Giuliani literally pretending that he'd never heard of mail in ballots before this election?

Of course it's not going to work but it'll fuel the people they want to fuel.

I guess the margins were getting to large for voter fraud to cut the mustard, go for the nuclear option of invalidate all mail in ballots.

it actually says "many voters being disenfranchised simply for casting their votes in-person" 😀

klunk - great response from Brad Raffensperger.
Perdue has been accused of something like insider trading - buying stocks in PPE companies immediately after a confidential briefing about coronavirus.
Loeffler is an airhead - married to the CEO of the company which owns the US stock exchange.
Both staring down the barrel knowing their senate careers are on the line.
Their letter is pathetic; no state would knowingly include illegal votes in their count.
What a pair of dummies.
Into the shitter for both.

What is this guy willing to do for Trump that Esper wasn’t?

Esper wanted to rename Military Bases named after Confederate Generals. The not nearly soon enough to be ex president didn't want him to. They argued, he fired. Apparently.

Just further to my last post, I see **** for hire Farage also repeating the blatant lie that this was the first US election ever with postal votes.

Esper also resisted putting troops on the streets this summer (or maybe more importantly, denied that there were legal grounds to invoke the Insurrection Act, which is one of the Trump nuclear options)

I know that Americans famously don’t do irony, but you’d think that just reading that back to yourself would be enough for you to realise what an utterly ridiculous statement that is. 😂

Barr has sent a memo authorising DoJ investigations into voter fraud.

Justice Department official who oversees investigations of voter fraud, Richard Pilger resigns in protest.

So now Trump will get to select who runs the investigation.

Shame he couldn't stick it out and make sure it was done properly. As you say, yes-man can be slotted in now.

Obamacare is in the Supreme Court later today.

The prosecutors who can be appointed immediately are unlikely to be yes-men. They know this is a joke and they won't want it on their resume, so resigning is their best career move.

they also know if they're appointed by the Trump admin now they'll only be in the job for just over 2 months, so unless they're real loons are unlikely to be jumping at the chance

That was my thinking. Surely, anyone with anything between their ears won't be touching that particular career-ending 'opportunity' with a barge pole?

It's going to be pretty funny watching a procession of people turn 'the opportunity' down though 😀

Unless they're the real loons and dedicated to the cause which at this point means being up to no good, either trying to overturn the election or getting things pushed through before Jan.

He found a willing replacement for the defence secretary pdq. I don't think he is short of ideologs to choose from, the worrying thing is that now the grifters will be deserting looking for their next mark, it is the true believers who will remain and fight, and they are more dangerous.

They won't be 'pushing' anything through. That they even think for a second that they can, shows you how detached they are from the new reality. Their power has visibly ebbed away.

This whole thing is surely a hiding to nothing now? The law of diminishing returns? It seems everyone knows that apart from the wotsit-coloured toddler himself and those around him. And nobody dare tell the petulant man-baby.

When Fox News are now being denounced by the Oval Office for cutting Trumps spokesman off, mid sentence, for spouting lies then the game really is up. He has few friends left, and certainly none with any power or influence.

Don't get me wrong... it's brilliant! I'm loving every 'Four Seasons' moment of it. It promises to be nasty (as that is his nature), but ultimately both tragic and comedic in equal measure.

Can this image ever be bettered, in any election EVER 😀

@jamze - that does show both how urban the US population is and also just how the "huge" states like Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas are electorially insignificant - basically all the "plains" states have less impact than California on its own.

It ain't over until the lady sings.

President Trump (he still is until the next bloke sworn in) has the right to challenge the result all the way to the high / supreme court.

I shall sit tight and watch the drama unfold.

They are only insignificant because they don't swing. Each vote in a smaller state carries more weight towards the electoral college than in a big one.

has the right to challenge the result all the way to the high court.

He does but he's gonna need evidence.

We've all got all sorts of rights that we're free to exercise any time we like. Whether we should, of course, is another thing entirely.

He's blinded by his inability to accept that he's become the thing he despises the most.. a loser.

He's so verbally incontinent that if he did actually have any evidence we'd all know all about it by now.

He hasn't

I'm quite looking forward to seeing him bankrupt himself with years of pointless legal wrangling though

Re four seasons landscaping. I just did a Google Street view search
It's worth doing. Just to see the dodgy looking porn shop opposite 'fantasy island'.

it makes Trafford park look like Knightsbridge

Take a look at some of the backstreets there. Jeez

I like to think Giuliani popped over the road after the presser wrapped up just to see if there was any evidence of electoral fraud in fantasy island

In that case take the challenge in court what is there to fear. The law is designed for this sort of things.

He hasn’t

He has to put his case up so let him.

The resignations, the landscaping briefing fiasco, the refusal to accept defeat, the fake news narrative, rats and sinking ships, it started this way how was it ever going to end any other way?

There was nobody in the administration since day one who thought of anything else but tomorrow, no ideologue ever plans long term strategy (see also the current tory mob)

They really are risking what tatters are left of the US democratic reputation, not that any of that was ever a concern of 45, but at least Biden and his team seem to be establishing a organisation and a position on the transition.

Would love to know if the 4 seasons hotel actually turned them down or if the Reps even bothered phoning

That's like saying "If you're not a rapist then you won't mind me attempting to prosecute you for rape"

Some things leave a lasting taint, even when they are grossly untrue.

Good to see the courts are involved. Nor do I but this should be fun.

You have the rights to defend yourself in court. Nothing you can do about it coz that is the law. You can sue the other person later etc ... just follow the law.

I can’t wait. It’s going to be an absolute car crash stretching out for years. He’s just too arrogant, pig-headed and stupid to see it.

I can't wait too and being stubborn in this case is a good thing. Never give up.

FTFY.

I imagine a phone call where a polite middle age woman tries to explain to shouty new york lawyer that they can't be booked for a press conference because they are not the four seasons hotel, but shouty lawyer won't have any of it because he knows best he rang the number for the four seasons so that's who he is speaking to, and eventually she relents and charges them 20k to use the parking lot.

The best theory I heard was that someone in the team said, “Siri, call the Four Seasons Hotel,” but that Siri called Four Seasons Total (Landscaping...) 😀

Barr really is a hard-line conservative turd of the highest order. Fighting anti war protestors at Columbia university etc

He reminds me of the clean cut jock type who was up Dean Wormer's arse in Animal House

Hopefully he'll go down with the good ship Trump, although he must've done that calculation and he's still there. Is he their version of our Suella braverman? He's got the same idea of impartiality

IMHO She's sung, given two encores and left the stage to a standing ovation. I doubt believe there are any circumstances left in which Trump can win the election.

He's not going to get the Supreme court to rule that votes are illegal because of a technicality like the USPS didn't stamp them, not that it would help, he's lost by too great a margin in too many states. So unless he can at least show some evidence of a large, organised conspiracy he's not going to be able to win that way. He might win the recount in Georgia, but that won't effect the outcome.

I suspect all this is to grab another couple of million from the Trump Faithful to try to cover his campaign debt.

The good thing for the Americans, it'll keep him busy until January.

It ain’t over until the lady sings.

she’s sung, had an encore, taken off her make up and hailed a taxi home...the only people that don’t understand that are about 10 people and most of those have the surname Trump.

Good to see the courts are involved

the courts aren’t involved, there hasn’t been a decision yet on whether they have a case that’s even worth setting a court date.

Trump isnt stupid, and will also not do something unless its in his interest.

if he benefits from burning down US democracy then that's what he'll do.

I think he has a lot to lose if he gives up the presidency, so will cling to it for dear life.

january is a long way away.....

Trump has the protection of his office, but Giuliani and the other cronies don't. He is accusing State and Federal office holders of criminal acts without a shred of evidence. I hope they get sued and bankrupted.

I don't think so. He has lost all allies with any influence. He no longer has the draw of being President. Lots of people put pride aside so they could work in the White House. They will not do so jus to work for Trump. More dirt will come out. He has no credible media voice, he won't even have a voice on Twitter as they will ban him once he is no longer POTUS.

He will at best, just be a ranty old man without a platform. He will shrivel away quite quickly and become just a stain on history.
