There was something on Snopes the other day that said 90% of partisan division was started by groups and posts on FB, a lot of which originate from Russia, N. Korea, China etc looking to destabilise the west.
The mistake 'we've' made is that some people saw it as an opportunity, the tide seems to be turning on that, and certainly in the US at least Biden and co are going to want to quickly work to regulate Social Media, at least to the same standard as News.
