Quietest bike-friendliest route possible? Distance no object. It's for a friend.
along the river is easiest, and quite nice (up to about hammersmith) but you have to leave the river aftyer battersea but not far to vauxhall,

South side looks better than the North?
definitely south side, stop at teddington locks to session the dirtjumps

Plus they need a little work (or did when I last had a look).
If leaving from Twickenham you are best riding through East Twickenham, over the bridge into Richmond and then picking up the path on that side of the river. Alternatively, if getting onto that side beforehand the next place up-river (ie against the direction you are going) is Teddington Lock.
Note that much of the path is gravel so not the best surface if your friend is on a road bike. It's perfect Gnarmaccing territory.
I think she has a hybrid, should be fine.
