A quick pick of your STW brains please!

I'm going to be heading southwards at the beginning of Feb with Mrs HP's family (5 adults, 4 children in total) we're on the hunt for hotels/b&b's etc that are within 20-30mins travel of Twickenham Uni (Graduation ceremony). Done the usual lateroom/booking.com searches, but not really turning much up.

Can anyone local/well travelled help us out? I know that's pretty vague, sorry!

Cheers
Keith

Here are a couple of places near me in Hampton Wick, about 4-5 stops down the trainline line from Twickenham (10-12 mins) a bit longer on the bus (15-20 mins).

Hampton Wick is a charming little "village", it has one of the best road bike shops in the UK (SigmaSport.co.uk), is a two minute walk from Royal Bushy Park, on the River, and a 10 min brisk walk from Hampton Court Palace. A nice place to stay for a night sort of thing with some very local attractions.

I was not aware that Twickenham has a University mind 😆

Chase Lodge seems very popular with people attending weddings (but it is a small hotel)

yeah, we'll have a car (or 2), and yeah, it's St. Mary's.

Main issue is family rooms so far, cheers for the suggestions.

hp_source - not sure if the Chase Lodge has parking as it is in a quiet residential street with residents parking.

No but there is a regular bus service to Twickers the R68. Takes 20 minutes or so it's no hassle and the stop is outside the hotel. Or if you like trains you can go to Kingston by bus 5 minutes away and change to the train. The hotel has residents parking.

check my link above, its the shizzle.

Pope's grotto (see below link) another good shout if not too pricey, very local to OP's requirement.

You'd choose to stay on the road at the end of the M3? 🙄

A316, and yes. absolutely.

You'll be more worried about the flightpath in that part of london.

all depends how close you want to be to venue. Popes grotto is likely to be closest, whereas there are probably 500 other options as close as syon park.
