Off on a long weekend break in a couple of weeks for the wife's birthday so I thought I would try the Peak district. The problem is I know absolutely nothing about the area so can anyone recommend a particularly scenic spot to stay, or better still a dog friendly holiday cottage?

Castleton. in the square near the Castle pub is especially pretty. There are some cottages you can rent. google and the intertubes should see you right
