Anyone know anything about TV aerials? I have gone all modern and got myself a flat screen TV with freeview HD box inside. My main channels are ok signal but no picture or sound for HD channels and picture breakup on channels like E4+1 but normal E4 is ok. I can see Emley moor mast from the attic bedroom window. Is the problem likely to be the cables from the aerial, the aerial (both of which look quite old and were already there when I moved in 6 years ago) or just a case of changing the position of it? Seems a bit odd that its mainly the +1's that do not work. Thanks

It is likely to be either the aerial or the cable 🙂
The aerial should be the correct group [B] as that's what the analogue was, they haven't changed it
E4 is on a different multiplex to E4+1, which shares with the likes of Dave, Pick TV and Sky News
The fact that this MUX is the highest frequency one, may point to it being a cable issue rather than the aerial itself,
Carefully check all connections to make sure there are no shorts or poor contacts

If your area hasn't been switched to digital yet the signal might not be strong enough. The digital signal is boosted when they switch off the analogue system so even if you can't get all the channels now you should after switchover. Or what uplink said.
Thanks Ton, Not too sure about DIY its a long way up (girly scream!) and I am recovering from a broke wrist (thank you Whinlatter!). Do you know any fitters locally?
