Wife would like this or similar for Christmas. Uses TRX at the gym so likely to get some long term use at home. I don't know much about it but it seems pricey. Worth getting branded TRX or are cheaper alternatives "as good" ?

I have this one: http://www.physioroom.com/product/PhysioRoom.com_Suspension_Trainer/3466/39755.html

Gets used by me at 100kg with all my weight going through it and I haven't broke it yet so unless your wife is a heffalump she'll be fine.

I used a length of static rope with some loops tied in and some £1 bike grips on.

I use a set of gymnastic rings with adjustable straps, £20 IIRC.

I got a copy for about a tenner off ebay, I'm still more worried about the door coming off than I am the trainer.

Keep meaning to stick an eye up somewhere (behind a curtain pole would seem logical).

If she uses it at the gym it's unlikely to get used at home, surely?

Anyway, gymnastics rings.

TRX very expensive, lots of cheaper and just as effective alternatives around.

Thankfully mrsm's trx clone was cheap, as total use time so far = approx three weeks before novelty wore off.

They can be used for couples activities at home that'll be frowned upon at the gym...

I have the Lidl or Aldi version, Crivit brand. Slightly better than pukka TRX for me, I find the handles more comfortable and the loops fit my shoes better for planks etc. Well made and loads on ebay unused for under £20

I have the Jungle Gym XT - it’s two separate bits as opposed to the one Y shaped job. It’s really good
