Is it much cheaper to book ahead over there?

Obviously here you get shafted on a walk up ticket buy, but are they the same?

I need to get from Brussels Sud Charloi airport (distance-wise, it's link to Brussels seems quite tenuous) to Antwerp in a couple of weeks.
Since I'm flying in, I'd rather have flexibility in case things are late, but if I book now I can get a 2 hour first class journey for £20......

I only used the train a few times when I lived there but it was very cheap to use.

very cheap in comparison; I just checked* for a ticket now on the BRX to Antwerp leg and a single would be €7.70 for the train in 20 mins time so i assume that'll be pretty much the same as the walk up price.

* Trainline.eu can book EU train tickets fwiw; if flying in to Charleroi you could book the train as you wait for a bag if you want.

Seems like a good price.  Weekend can be cheaper but that price looks great.  Remember that you need to also get a bus from the rail station in Charleroi out to the airport

There are also buses direct but they seem to take way longer for about the same amount

Oh, to answer your question (of course), it can be cheaper to book in advance but it is nothing like as bad as the UK.  At the weekend I normally just rock up and by a ticket
