Thanks, I'm still none the wiser.

TSY, can you post a link to a Y/T clip demonstrating that exercsie you describe as deadlift. Please.

Why the almond flour TSY?

Solo, i get the KB deadlifts using two, its what i would do if i did them (but not that weight or reps!) ๐Ÿ™‚

Edit, after Majorca and no weights for 10days, the first thing that i noticed when i went back to the gym was how much weaker my hamstrings were! Looks like the reading you were doing was right!

Solo - grab a KB or DB in each hand.
Lower to the floor in the same way you would the bar in a deadlift.
Stand up again as per deadlift.

??

Solo, like this but with two feet

I have a new hamstring and glute exercise for you to try...
Do tell! The glute exercises my physio gave me still kill my glutes. I want to do KB snatches but when my PT was explaining how to do the last bit (ie above weight height to overhead) i couldn't get the hang of moving the KB/my arm to the right position. ๐Ÿ™„

What exercise did you get given?

I've been advised to do deep front squats holding as heavy a sandbag as possible across my chest. If you're calves aren't flexible enough to get your bum really low... raise your heels on a weight plate.

Sorry TSY, I've never claimed to be Smart

Anyway, with you now, thanks.

I've just never seen or heard of it with seperate weights in each hand.

Sorry for being so thick.

DG, have you a tattoo on your right forearm ?.

Its for my piriformis muscle...basically lie down on your side, with the leg on the floor slightly bent. Lift the other leg up (heel first) activating only the muscle in your bum - its the only place you should feel any pain when you hold your leg there. After 10 reps, holding for a count of 10-15, its hurts big time...not as much as it did the first time i did them mind you! Holding the bridge for 20 secs and lowering as slowly as i can i.e for 40secs also hurts my glutes (the lowering as slowly as i can bit).

Too tired to get any training in tonight before meeting with my coach so i hope Molgrips isn't going to get in any sneaky training tonight ๐Ÿ˜€

DG, have you a tattoo on your right forearm
I do yes from wrist to elbow. How come?
This is it

I was reviewing some threads and the picture you posted of yourself riding in a group, popped up.
Thought I saw a shadowy marking on that arm and thought I'd ask.

TSY, yes like a clam but with straight leg. Simple but effective.

Not sure which thread now, I've seen a few today.
Its a rear quarter shot from over your left shoulder, if that helps.

DG, you need a road themed tattoo on the other arm.

I would not be at all confident of making it past the initial tender.

Have to say my homemade energy bars are a success.

I'm going to up the peanut butter and honey content next time and remember to melt the choc-chips but other than that... really good.

Made 16 good sized bars after I'd trimmed off the outside edges and stuffed my face.

Heh, its not actually a mtb themed one - the flower is a lotus flower, linked to yoga and some other personal stuff. I want a second one but have no inspiration for designs, been toying with using the flower and swirls for one but i can't fit in getting inked until post racing season!

I think i might try your bars TSY...do they taste nice? Not planning on eating them during rides but pre gym / ride might be good.

My training has gone out of the window this week after 2 nights of hardly any sleep due to stressing about things ๐Ÿ™

I can send you a picture?

They do taste good... essentially they'll taste like whatever you put in them!

Sounds like you should've trained more to get the stress out of your system!

I've cocked up my training a little by doing too much the last couple of days. I'm now faced with a lunchtime session that is going to hit muscles that are already aching ๐Ÿ™

2 nights of hardly any sleep due to stressing about things

training has helped me sleep during probably the most difficult time in my life. In fact it has become a massive release for all the stress I am currently living through. Though I am still not sleeping great.

Right then...

After a warm up on the cross trainer I did...

3 x
12 squats wearing a weighted vest and holding a sand bag across my chest
8 body weight chin ups - concentrating on keeping core rigid.

2 x
10 cable hip extensions each leg (leg moving backwards)
10 knee raises each leg
10 explosive jumps to pull up wearing a weights vest
10 barbell roll outs
10 cable axe swings (I think that's the name)

3 x
10 hamstring glute raises
12 bodyweight rows
15 hollows

2 x
10 seated hamstring curls each leg
10 seated leg extensions each leg

2 x
10 hip abductor and what ever the opposite move on the machine is called.

I might ditch the tabata running session tonight.

Crikey ! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

It must really be a double dip recession.

Come on TSY, stick with it.
You'll turn to lard if you stop now.

went boxing last night mostly lots of press ups and punching bags whilst getting shouted at by an angry man. I ate a sarnie for dinner and lentil soup for tea along with some fruit.

Today I have eaten a haricot bean salad and a bowl of porridge for breakfast. Some fruit and a cup cake.

Going riding tonight.

Hopefully my calves will soon develop into well defined sculptures of flesh; similar to how TSY used to be.

alex222 - maybe I should take a picture of them now before they turn into little sticks?

I completed what I started on Monday and did a full sprint tri in the gym this morning, run completed in 23:10 after opting to start at 5min/km pace and negative splitting all the way to the end.

Held enough back to do a Tabata session on the rower ๐Ÿ™‚

I feel ruined now, but strangely alive, buzzing in fact. I love endorphins.
