I've got 4-5 hours to kill between site surveys, what decent trails are near Blackburn?
The West Lothian question?
Absolutely loads of decent trails. Your right next to the West Pennine Moors. From Blackburn I'd head over to Darwen (as you're right next to it) ย and Have a ride up to Darwen tower, then pick up the Witton Weavers Way over to Belmont and Rivington.
You could take in the San Marino from the top of Winter Hill
If it's Blackburn, Lancashire, then you've got quite a bit to go at as above. I'd probably go and park opposite Roddlesworth near the Royal Arms in Tockholes.
Head up to the Tower, take in some moorland tracks, pick your descent down (the long diagonal front is the best) then head across into Roddlesworth woods, again pick your track to cross over to Abbey Village (there's some good stuff if you know where to look) head up onto Great Hill. Then down either White Coppice or one of the nice trails in Brinscall woods, along the goyt and over to Healey Nab for a lap or two. Then back you go to The Royal.
You could make the loop a longer (add in Rivi) or shorter if you wished too.
Give me a shout if you want any pointers!
If you are right in Blackburn itself then you could have a whizz round the trails in Witton Park and a play on the little pump track.
Ace, cheers child folks
