Anyone off to the First Direct Arena tomorrow for the "Tour Makers Orientation"?
Not really sure what to expect, but if anyone from Skipton or nearby wants a lift drop me an email ๐
I should be attending, from Halifax
Interested to see what will happen
There must be more than 2 of us though!
Waves, from Sheffield direction! Not sure I can get there for the start and the "Happy to Help" indoctrination chanting.
I'll be there,
popping over on the train from Harrogate.
was right near the back of the upper tier last time I went so interested to see what it's like closer to the front
Good on ya guys. Put my name down but pulled out as I was too shellfish/felt bad leaving my wife with our 1 year old.
Hope you all get ace spots/jobs.
I'm planning to go to it. I live in Leeds anyway so no real excuse not to!
I'm there.
If you're there I think I'll be the big lad on crutches (see the gout thread - it's flared up again)
I'll be there, heading up via 18 bikes to pick up my Steel City pint glass
I've got Langsett on stage 2 as my volunteering spot
I withdrew after discovering I was in Holmfirth on Stage 2 when I live in Otley. I asked for Stage 1 - can't do the Sunday.
I was, and still am, well pissed off...
I'll be there. Do you think the bar will be open??
What exactly are we expecting when we get there โ
Taz 'n' Keef - apparently they're organising it this year
I'm stood on the platform at Wakefield Westgate, on my way.
I'm sure there'll be some bars open after the event. ๐
Sod it, I'll get the Mrs to drop me off and give her a few quid to go shopping - another one heading for the bar ๐
Just about to set off with the missus, we have both been allocated to Zone 1 on Stage 1. not sure what today's thing is all about, but it says its more entertaining than training.
Have got Sector 10 on Stage 1 which is up at aysgarth, quite pleased with that!
I think there will be plenty of audience participation.
All together now.
'This is my hi vis tabard, there are many like it, but this one is mine. Without my hi vis tabard, I am nothing. Without me, my tabard is nothing.
This is my hi vis tabard, there are many li....'
Have fun kids!
Stage 1, sector 3 Leeds ring road to the turn off the A61 towards Pool.
Could be worse.
Sat in here waiting now.
Was going to go but works got in the way, same goes for the training days in june, I'm either in work or will be in Jersey at the festival of cycling.
Rumour has it they may be more training days towards the end of June, hope so as otherwise I will have to pull out.
I got Stage 2 sector 1 which is about the furthest point from my home address possible.
It wouldn't be possible without us.
Indeed.
I'm too cynical, some people are going to be making shed loads of money thanks to your volunteering.
Sorry, I forgot the winking emoticon.
I'd have been a bit disappointed if I'd travelled any distance for that, but as a free event on a rainy saturday it wasn't bad and I had nothing better to do.

Indeed I am!
Especially the last 45 minutes stuck in Leeds traffic in apocalyptic rain, going round in circles because the postcode given for the Arena sends you around the centre of the university, 10 minutes away, getting stuck in a loop around dead ends, restricted, one way and pedestrian/university staff only roads
