Anyone recently attempted this walk? Looking for any information regarding accommodation, daily distances, time of year to go (next year).

Ok I'll give you some proper advice...
Get the Cicerone guide and map A1 in the Carte de Randonnees series (Pays du Mont-Blanc) covers the whole route at 1:50,000.

The April issue of TGO magazine did a whole feature on it. Worth a read if you can get a back copy (they do an online app too)

Friend at work did it in 10-14 days late September about 4 years ago, she loved it and wants to go again when her kids are old enough to appreciate it. She seemed to think it was a good time of year to have done it
