I don't bother with either torrents or rapidshare... I keep it old school with newsgroups - works for me!

Depending on what you are going to download could I also recommend installing Peer Guardian

It's a load of old cobblers that proggy. Get a vpn :)I haven't a scooby how newsgroups work.

The problem with peer guardian is that it only blocks known IPs from directly connecting. All the lawyers do is get your IP from a tracker so it's essentially useless.
