Good stuff, especially the oval racing in the old cop cars.

Weird how they were only allowed to use the junior swamp racers.

Redbull took Max V and Yuki T plus a skater and MXer, they all got the big guns.

They probably saw the episode where Paddy drove that Diablo into a drystone wall and thought, nah........

I assumed it was because the fast ones skimmed the water rather than drove through it, the learning curve would be way too high and there would be a significant risk of them properly damaging them when they inevitably sink.

When they were doing the drag racing in the donk cars I thought Flintoff was going to kiss the wall, whilst doing an 80mph burnout!

Bet the owner had a proper WTAF moment there.

Bet they were a bit worried when Yuki wheelied one… 3.20 for the money shot.

I thought it was funny and entertaining but it's been slated by the media.

I guess I'm just low brow, I was laughing at the game of snap!

Watched 1/2 of it so far. It's amusing but it's a much more interesting program when Chris Harris is actually talking about cars and the other two are not involved. is there any of that in the 2nd half as I'm not sure I can sit through another half hour of McGuiness

Nope, not this week. It's all American road trippin'.

Enjoyed that, but massively this -

His crash avoidance in the oval race was outstanding.

for all the other two's dicking about, Harris can drive....threading through that gap was arse-puckering and I'm only watching on catch up!

Plenty of stuff on YouTube to cover that leaving TV Top Gear for the panto lovers.

Chris Harris looks like he has the potential to get old fast. He's putting on weight fast and has terrible posture with rolled shoulders and slumped. He's beginning to look a bit broken.

That was ok. Just ok.

It's true. Say what you like about Clarkson, May and Hammond, they were clearly in fantastic physical shape throughout their Top Gear careers.

😀

Surely Clarkson in the programs history should be enough of warning anyone would need!

Chris Harris is doing a bit more YouTube stuff again which is nice to see. I agree, I like when he talks so passionately about cars, not try to act like he fits in with the two clowns. So for me this reboot of Top Gear is very hit-and-miss when I've watched it, not sure it's for me.

I thought the lasted episode was ok but a bit subdued. Interaction between them is always good but the swamp but was a bit lame.
They should have done more with Cletus - he had loads of vehicles and other stuff he could have done with them.

I've watched a fair amount and not seen anything as good as CH's solo stuff. Any suggestions? *

* Not Shmee/ThroughGlass/JWW type stuff though.

I enjoy Carfection every so often. Henry Catchpole knows his stuff, wears cycling related clothing being one of us, and it's often beautifully filmed.

camissa is pretty good for a US view of the world. This comparison (approx 1.50 in, so no need to skip through) really opened my eyes as to the pace of things

I did try his stuff but found it a bit dull.

Will check out the Carfection Idlejon - I think I like HC iirc. ;o)

not necessarily interested in US stuff 5lab but will check that out.

Cheers

Caught up with it last night and found it pretty dull. Shame, as I thought they were getting into their stride after the last series. Hopefully the rest are better.

Anyone watching tonight’s episode? Loving the cop car segment, I thought Harris was going to have a stroke he was laughing so much! Great fun.
Now for a C5 toboggan; possibly the best use for one.

Just felt like a a rehash of old segments for me, good but just basically a tribute to the previous shows. The cop car stuff went on for a bit too long though and not enough on the older cars either. But then that's more car show than entertainment show!

Wasn't that fussed about tonight's and thought it was a bit weak content wise.

I'm wondering if my tastes/attitude towards TV 'shows' is changing though, as I find myself watching way more 16 to 30 minute YouTube clips than actual TV now. Even the F1 got skipped through in about 15 minutes so I could catch up on YouTube subcribes instad.

I seem to be mainly attracted to American car stuff like Cleetus, KSR and the odd other drag racing focussed channels with some hifi, biking and fitness types thrown in.

I wouldn't want to buy that Ford Raptor from Flintoff.

For those of us of an electrohead persuation I can recommend Electric Classic Cars

As for Top Gear. I just can't bring myself to watch it now because.. Paddy ****g McGuiness!

Top Gear channel which CH appears on now and again
All depends what you like about CHs stuff really. I find a few good things on Hagerty, classic stuff on Tyrells Classic World for example but there is a lot out there to suit whatever niche or style you are into.

I enjoyed the bobsleigh challenge, even though it had, (maybe because it had) no real connection with cars at all. Flintoff's got some cobblers riding that thing, especially after he'd put a proper one briefly on it's side. Put me in mind of Guy Martin's soapbox speed record attempt. I'd love a go at bobsleigh.

Last nights episode was a definite improvement on the week before’s road trip. The first half of last nights episode was good but the bit at the power station all got a bit too silly and dull

Its clear the insurance companies have had enough of expensive claims given the proximity sensors are required to stop them crashing into each other

I thought the police car section was weak. Fair play to Flintoff for the C5 run though. Looked scary.

For YouTube stuff to watch

Late Brake Show - Johnny Smith. Recently drove a 6R4 which was very interesting

Collecting Cars - Harris occasionally on this. There are some drives on there of some pretty rare cars - such as a Citroen SM and GT40 replica

Petrol Ped - some good stuff on there - also into bikes. He does a whole video on his ebike

As if the 1st episode wasn't bad enough, that was absolute shite. Roll on them replacing those two useless tossers (Flintoff has balls, but go do it on your own show..).

I got extremely bored with the cop car section, and then fast forwarded through the last ten minutes of the Sinclair C5 thing. The worst episode of Top Gear I've ever seen, I reckon.

Agree - pile of poo.

Cop car bit went on way to long.

And of all the things to do with a C5, just plonking the shell on some bobsleigh gubbins was lame. No connection to original concept. If they wanted to go fast in one, just mod it with new tech and race it.

JayEmm on cars

Harry's garage

And quite possibly the funniest thing on YouTube

Smith & Sniff (Jonny Smith from the Late Brake Show & Rich Porter of Sniff Petrol, also the script writer for Top Gear and the Grand Tour

Oh and I own one of the cars Petrol Ped reviewed. He also has a really nice Colnago amongst other bikes

Add Hub Nut to the list if you want an oldish bloke dicking about with old cars.

Car Throttle and Auto Alex are decent for stuff similar to the old Top Gear mini challenges. Car Trek is trying to do the longer versions with varying success - Tavarish, Hoovie and VinWiki collaboration.
