Is Ari Vatanen's Pike Peak run that first one? (youtube's blocked here)
Yes
Only a couple I haven't seen but good thread!
I've always liked this one:
๐
This is a good'un too:
I spent an evening/beers with Vatanen (and McRae when he was a 'boy'); Ari was very down to earth and is definately up there with my riding/driving 'Gods'.
Ah thanks for the links, saves me searching for them.
First time I met Colin, he'd just stuck his Nova on its roof in a ditch in Dyfi forest. Things continued in a similar vein for many years ... and that why we loved him ๐
anybody got the one where a spectator moons the car and driver crashes ?
๐
here we go (naughty words)
Liver run is quality, makes 1987 seem like such a long time ago, everything looks dead old fashioned
I'm trying to remember who it was that went straight on through a 5-bar gate instead of 90-right, rallycrossed around the field a bit, then rejoined at Mach 3. Not Vatanen I don't think, Arikala maybe? It was the Manx or Circuit of Ireland IIRC.
Saw this on PH, worth a watch. Pretty funny (NSFW language)
that one's excellent retro83
retro83, that's awesome - better than the CAR top-10 IMO
As I am bored at lunch, have linked them for you thegreatape ๐
Very kind of you!
Great. I like this too. Just listen to that motor sing - sweet Jesus it's awesome.
Never get bored of watching Climb Dance, ever since having a ratty VHS copy as a lad. The way that Ari uses one hand to shield his eyes from the sun whilst nailing it is something else.
Seems a pretty good top 10 to me.
Ok, favourite?
It pains me not to pick Senna, but I think I like Hawthorn's best.
"Cyclists everywhere, typical French"
"In the race we get up to about 175 to 185 miles per hour...the nice thing is you can relax a little"
The "oh dear God" moment with Ari on the Manx at 11. Graham Hickman in his Jordan hill climb car at 12... .
The thing about the 'oh dear god' clip is Ari dosn't slow down at all with only 3 (functioning) wheels on his wagon. It only suffers in the slow corners when loaded, 'watch out for Jimmy' wasn't really necessary when he is still doing a ton over the mountain ๐
retro83....... top video, brought back some memories, many thanks
4mins in for more shots of 'the moment'.
Mark Blundell ringing the neck of a Nissan group C car to stick it on pole at Le Mans in 1990. 1100 bhp and generous dabs of oppo.....

Blundell at Le Mans 1990
Some onboard at the end of the second vid, but....this is probably the most awesome thing I've ever seen/heard, sadly Georg and his mighty 1 series are no longer with us. ๐
Good one of Juha Kankkunen at Rally Finland, a few brown trouser moments!
this at 1 min 35 seconds sih
[edit]sorry already done by anotherdeadhero[/edit]
stgeorge = full of win.
Not quite in-car but...
RIP Richard.
this is a comical Irish co-driver on Acid!
This is a good one, quite funny.
On board rally action of a mad Irish bloke in a Nova who has caught a Subaru that refuses to move over. Funny end to it as well.
Not always "legal" but there are some awesome in car Gumball 3000 videos on YouTube.
Some crazy touge battles as well.
The bloke sitting next to Vatanen on the Manx is the current Chairman of Aston Martin
Not the greatest quality but mental and has me gripping the chair every time I watch it ๐ฏ
rendezvous, perfection.
