Any cheaper alternatives than the Thule ones?
I spotted some on eBay a while back but can't find them now.

Never bothered using mine. Only used my bars with bike racks but didn't notice any downsides to not using the rubber inserts. No increase in wind noise, not over and above the wind noise generated by the racks.

It's for when I strap other items to the rack, timber etc.
I thought it may of dulled the noise a little too.
