Looking at some of the maps on the TFL website, it looks like the limos bearing the great and good will be sweeping along their own lanes along bits of Euston Road, the A40 etc. Some will be bus lanes, others will just be taken off the happy motoring public for the duration of the games...
There is even mention of cyclists being banned from some of the lanes, even those at the nearside...
I wonder how it will feel to be inching past St Pancras as Juan Antonio Samaranch* whizzes by?
*Is he dead? Can't remember.
Just imagine what would happen if a number of scrap cars were to be parked at nodal points...

They'd be cleared away very quickly.

TBF queeny's shindig has caused pretty much gridlock in W1/SW1 for the last 3 weeks and still wont be back to normal until next Tuesday. It's been fun/mental playing with the traffic down picadilly since constitution hill/Mall has been fubarred.
At least the Games lanes wont be completely blocking the way through. They look like theyr on multi lane (min 2x most 3x) sections of road so shouldnt impact cyclists too much.
Not if some scallywag were to stuff them full of full-looking luggage with a few wires involved...

My memory of London traffic suggests that losing just one lane on some of these stretches will have a fair old impact. Even the results of telling the black cabs to bugger off out of some of the bus lanes into the traffic will be interesting.
They are very slow and methodical when dealing with a suspected IED.
the residents of London ... are simply ... an inconvenience
Paraphrased slightly, but I'd enjoy going to London more if it wasn't full of everybody who lives there ... ๐

I'd enjoy it more without the visitors..... ๐
I like visitors coming to London. Especially when they have an open mind, and aren't chippy opinionated so and sos. ๐

Undoutbedly. But not to me and my trusty ratbike ๐ And that's clearly all that matters.

If the scallies were identified then they'd be looking at a stretch inside, not such a jolly jape then.
What about a small peaceful democratic protest against the ridiculous sums spent on a vanity project?
A protest that would of course occur in the "Olympic lane".
And for clarity, I'm just asking the question - not going to start one as I value my freedom/life (well the trigger happy Met will be doing the policing).
What if the scrap cars had proximity detectors to blast out Celine Dion when anyone approached?
Edit: as in play loudly, not literally blast out.
