I have to say, i'm with BWD on this one. I started a 'would ya' type thread the other day and was banned within 15 minutes, but this thread is continually cropping up and this one contains pics, whereas mine was just words! I know this A&A thing is allowed in the rules but it seems a bit hypocritical to me! either allow them or ban them all! SIMPLES!

Look its simple, some men find some women attractive, some women find some men attractive (apparently), try to learn to live with these basic facts of life. You'll find yourself less stressed generally I think.

A&A has always been open to all, that was a key aim. As such, the good ladies of STW regularly pop by to post pics of scantily clad chaps. No one complains about that!

I read this site far too much and while people reel out this point of view often, I dont think I've ever read a post from anyone saying words to the effect of "Its aweful, there are hardly any female mountain bikers". Not suggesting people dont WANT female mountain bikers, but I've never read any complaining about a lack of them. The reason so few women use STW is likely to be the percentage of female MTBers there are in relation to male, that do MTBing as anything more than a bit of exercise. Women who obsess over bikes and want to talk about them all day are few and far between 😀

And, FYI, the thread is open to both sexes, always has been.

I'm not sure the remit was breached in any way. They're all images of athletes. In photos they have happily posed for, they are therefore happy to portray themselves as attractive as well as athletic. Thats surely fine, be they male or female? There's nothing wrong with admiring the looks of people with an athletic, healthy, attractive figure - if anyone suggests there is I think their reasoning is questionable. The reason it's not allowed on any old post is that it's nice to keep the site reasonably family friendly and some people can't control their posts and responses. Too much of anything is a bad thing.

BWD, it's a predominantly male activity......although I wish it wasn't. Was at Llandegla at the weekend for a couple of hours - I thought it was a male only day! IMO the input from females on STW is proportionate to female riders out there. There's normally encouragement on STW for the ladies to get involved. Females not treated badly IMO on this site as you implied, quite a bit of lighthearted banter/flirting when they do.

Everyone has different morals and I understand where you're coming from but dont agree in the slightest. If it was morally wrong and treated women unfairly then I'm pretty sure they (females) wouldn't get involved at all?

SiB I'm a reasonably regular contributor to the A&A thread. Doesn't offend me in the slightest. I mostly just get jealous cos all the ladies are prettier than me and better at sports.

SIB, lots of women don't get involved in some debates (esp those which involve objectification of women, and online behaviours which upset us) because of the backlash they get in return.

Many women are sick of the degradation but don't dare speak up because they are out numbered.

That was always my feeling (disruptive barely legal stuff for the first few weeks aside, on my part). The idea was to show attractive sportspeople playing sports or something along those lines. A quick scan of the last four weeks' A&A threads shows the number-of-posts-till-FHM/Maxim-type-post count as:

Today: 4
Last week: 7 or 19, depending on your interpretation
One before that: 5
And the one before that (by ton): 1

As such, it's turning into a big fat fail.
