So for reasons I won't go into, I'll find myself with a day to myself in Coventry.
Can the STW hive mind suggest anything worthwhile / interesting to do in the local area ?

The old Coventry Evening Telegraph offices are supposed to be worth a mooch – not sure if they are open on a weekday. Twisted Barrell in FarGo (Far Gosford Street) or Beer Gonzo on Earlsdon High Street if you like beer. Shin sushi or Jinseon Korean BBQ Restaurant both in Priory Place for food.

how bad is Coventry

Its not that bad TBH. Spent 2 years at Poly there back in the late eighties. Some areas were a bit run-down. City centre is architecturally 'interesting', - a lot of post-war concrete. Great night out back then - Dog and trumpet, Tic-Toc etc (so much so I didnt get my degree 😕 )
