Narrow feet in chainsaw/fire boots, so always have to wear several pairs to get a snug fit. Any recommendations for thick but not super warm socks (don't wI'm ant sweaty feet!)

No help on the socks but stick another set of insoles in

Good quality thick socks will wick the sweat away anyway. Smartwool would be my first choice. That and the insoles.

As above, try insoles first. I have to say my Alpkit socks get used more than any others, and have outlasted all sorts of posh walking socks.

The problem with a lot of insoles and shoe combination is the heel position - a thick wedged insole will generally lift the foot too high at the heel and can sometimes cause rubbing.

I've found this a problem on some shoes/boots with the insole they came with - rubbing continuously on the back of the heel. Changed the insole to something flatter and they were fine. I don't think the last was designed with the insole in mind, or the boot wasn't - one of the two.

Anyway - I have a pair of medium thick walking boot socks I use with my riggers, Bridgedale, I think. They add width but wick quick enough to stay dry. I don't really get sweaty feet, though.
