At least the World Cup only lasts a month.  Champions league qualifying starts in less than six weeks.  So the Champions league cash cow lasts for almost 11 months of the year!

Why are they leaking who's not in the England squad every few hours?

It's very strange

Well Harry Maguire and his mum leaked it themselves. He is shocked at his omission, she’s disgusted! They have a pretty high opinion of his ability.

Foden and Palmer out apparently. I don’t think they can complain on form this season, but Noni Madueka going instead of either of them seems a bit surprising?

Have you not downloaded the Engerland app? That's where all the cool kids are getting their team news.

There's an App? What a time to be alive!!

Anyway I sadly used a click bait link and looked at all the kits on the Daily Heil site. Germany's looks great so I want them to win!

Its as good a reason as any

Last World Cup we all picked a team at random, bought a knock off team kit and came up with a back story as to why we were supporting them, when asked in the pub.

A few of us picked Spain (as they actually had a chance of winning), booked a table in our local for all their matches and then told people the following. You have to guess which one of these is actually true. One is...

I was born prematurely while my mum and dad were on holiday in Benidorm, so I have dual nationality

My dad wrote the lyrics to the song Una Paloma Blanca and we still get the royalties from it

My mum was mates with Julio Iglesias and used to go to watch Spain games with him

When southgate was manager everyone complained about foden and Maguire in the squad, now they left foden and maguire out but people complain about it 🤷‍♂️.

Disappointed for MGW, not sure what more he could have done to get selected.

So Pep really is off then. All change in the EPL.

Prob not a lot. Tuchel is very much team and system above individuals and while that doesn't mean every team can't accommodate one or two slightly maverick impact players it's built around the system and cover for players in that system. I'm not really sure who England's game changer is though.....with no Palmer or Foden. Big fan of Anderson, very under rated so maybe it's there 😉

Curucao away looks really nice, like 80s Colombia/Romania hybrid

Definitely an emphasis on physicality I think. Anderson/Rice/Bellingham midfield, Rogers wide left? Saka on the right. Kane should be fresher given the standard of opposition he’s been scoring for fun against?

Colourwise I like the deep red of Qatar, design wise NL away is cool. For Italia 90 I managed to get Italy away ( =pre-internet so very hard to find sellers of anything out of the ordinary, this came from a Dad's work colleague) which was a gorgeous Diadora white with a tricolor band across the chest. And as they were home country, and had so many iconic players, I didn't need any excuse to wear it that magnificent summer. It also helped that I finished my finals 2 days before the opening ARG vs CAM tie and sobered up just enough to be able to watch most of the games in the communal TV room.

Why's there no Italy shirt in that list. Oh, yeah... I know all teams are there as of right but a WC without Italy again seems just wrong.

Surprisingly few minger shirts.....and then hiding down the bottom of the page, is USA

Still got an Italian 1998 shirt that felt like a tent then now it's a crop top.

It's both funny and embarrassing reading their family comments, like he has a god given right to be in the squad. Telling him to hold his head high... Yeahhuhh

I now have a very, very happy Bolton-supporting wife, just opening something cold and fizzy to celebrate their glorious return to the Championship! A pretty convincing win at 4-1 too. She’s not had much to cheer about theses last few years 😃

Who watching what. I plumped for West Ham v Leeds. I know some fans so potentially a hearty chortle.

But I'd still rather "big 6" Spuds went down.

Celebrating staying up, by the skin of your teeth, on the last day of the season, like you just won the Champions League?

How very ‘Big Six’

Embarrassing.

I'm genuinely quite annoyed Spurs have got away with another season of absolutely taking the p*ss. This season has been an embarrassment, the board haven't a clue what they're doing; and you have to wonder whether they'll learn anything from this season, just like they didn't last season.

That Leeds game was dire, I've seen a better kick about on a beech in magaluf at 3am. Probably where the Leeds players wanted to be.

When Harry Maguire and his brother got arrested for assault on holiday a few years back, the local Ilkeston paper at the time had the headline " Ilkeston Town player and brother arrested in Greece".

. . . and then tried to bribe the Greek copper. He’ll be forever known as ‘Drachma Harry’ in this household!

Well done indeed. Thats. pretty impressive haul for any club in a 12 month period

The question now is if they reprised the Superleague idea, would they qualify as one of the 'Big Six'? 😉

Anyone watching the champions league final today? Got a few mates over from across; one of which is a Spuds fan. Not sure if he'll wear the Arsenal shirt I've got for him.

Iraola to take over. Makes you wonder how many months ago that was a done deal?

It’s a ruthless old world where you get sacked and realise your successor was all but already in place ages ago.

I can understand the reasons though. For supporters used to years of Klippity’s brand of ‘Heavy Metal Football’, which was brilliantly entertaining, the football under Slot feels like it’s taking place at walking pace. The players didn’t look happy about the more sedate approach to proceedings either

Not sure that will play out well for Liverpool. Slot not really given time to build his own team. Very un-Liverpool like.

Until they start having to take an outfield player off for keeper injuries it’ll keep happening. As a neutral Really want psg to win this as can’t stand arsenals style of play, it’s so dull. Though if psg get another goal I’m all for them taking 15 minutes for a throw on just to watch arteta flapping his arms around!

And the penalty shithousery. Book him for delaying the (re)start, or unsporting behaviour or whatever. Then again if he keeps doing it, and make an outfield player go in nets

Sorry, but 2/5 missing the target completely is criminal.

Lots of pressure for sure, and before anyone says, no I've never had to take a penalty under that pressure, but i'm not on millions a year and spent my whole life preparing for that moment

Arsenal deserved nowt from that. Contrast with Villa last week who actually had a positive game plan.

And they should do away with pens and bring back golden goal extra time, plus after 10 mins or so take off a player every 3 mins or 5 mins until someone does (rolling subs if necessary for player fatigue). More than pens, I hate sides playing for pens, make them try and win it honestly.

They say that it messes the TV schedule up not knowing when it'll end.

To which I say - Balls; extra time faffing about takes 40 mins already - 5 mins set up, 3 mins halftime which should technically be straight round and then a couple more for time added on at least. Then if it goes to pens another 5-10 mins faffing around sorting out takers and what end and whatever, at least 1 min per kick not least due to goalkeeper faffing that I've already discussed, so that's normally another 9 or 10 mins, and then goodness knows if it goes to sudden death. By my reckoning, that's about an hour and if you don't believe me, looking at BBC live reporting time stamps, FT was 19:02, the final penalty was blazed into the PSG fans at 20:00

If after 10 mins of extra time at 11v11 (or whatever if sendings off) you removed a player every 5 mins in an hour you'd still be down to 2v2 or 1v1 and someone would have won before that.

best team in Europe largely nullified by the best drilled defensive team in Europe. Can't totally blame Arsenal, they'd never win an end to end slugfest against PSG and PSG didn't really do enough to deserve it either. Can we take it off them both and give it to the best team in the tournament on a pound for pound basis - this year's UCL champs [drum roll]

Bodo Glimt!!

As a City fan I can get behind this totally - they were amazing when we played them away. Real attacking effective football.

Given how well Bodo have done this season I think Norway will do pretty well at the world cup. I reckon they could make the quarter finals or semi finals.
