Have a couple of bottles of oldish Madeira, sat doing nothing, - any suggestions on the best way to sell them to acheive a decent price?

They are:

Leacocks 1966 Bual, aged 26 years in cask.

Blandys 1948 Bual, aged 52 years in cask.

There is a wine/port/other auction in Harrogate once or twice a year, not sure if you would get very much for Madeira tho, a bit too obscure maybe.

If you want more info and dates email me-- paul(dot)hopwood(at)tesco(dot)net

Calling me a 'ponce' isn't going to win you any favours, probably why you haven't had any other replys. ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿ˜† BANana - Its not a personal slur, no offence meant I enjoy poncifying over a nice bottle and wouldn't have bought them if wasn't interested in wine!

Yout right, it is obscure, a very niche market. So the Wine auction in Harrogate is well worth a Google, thanks!

I'm not sure you'll find anything about it on the internet, but I think the guy who runs the wine auction also owns The Wine Bureau, a wine Merchants in Harrogate, you could give him a call. He might also be able to give you an indication of value.
