[#1008504]

ok I'm bored at home, staying out of the kids way in the kitchen, felt a bit peckish so had a delve in the fridge, I've just made a lovely sandwich, which is my best yet.

homemade brown
mayo
mustard
tiny bit of coleslaw
crab sticks shredded x6
1" stick of chorizo thinly sliced
grated extra mature cheddar

just simply the best sandwich yet...

Sounds good.

A recent pinnacle of the sandwich art for me was;
Home made bread with mixed seeds
Houmous
Thinly sliced homegrown tomatoes
Wiltshire ham
Thinly sliced artichoke hearts (Waitrose ones in the chiller cabinet - Epic!)

Nomnomnomnomnom.

Crabsticks" do not actually contain any crab and from 1993 manufacturers have been legally obliged to label them "Crab flavoured sticks"

What the heck is wrong with plain and simple cheese and pickle on white?. Or at a push, ham, cheese and pickle.

I've just googled my favourite type of sandwich but I don't think I can safely put a link to it on here.

"Crab sticks"!? Oh, bleurgh... Sweepings off the fish gutting-shed floor, more like.

Ciabatta roll, warmed in the oven. Cut and left to cool slightly. Meanwhile:

Pan-fry (in their own fat without any other lubricant) some decent organic back bacon slices, until they're CRISPY!

Butter one side of the cut roll.

Lay on the bacon.

Lay on a thin slice of Jarlsberg.

Top with second half of roll. Munch.

Mug of Yorkshire Tea to taste, natch..

I reckon everyone should stop mincing and being so bloody poncey

How about extending the remit to 'best sandwich at 11.30 when you're just back from the pub'

cheapo white bread (purchased from the 24 hour garage on the way home)
Asda cheese and onion sandwich filler
sliced pickled beetroot

makes your teeth water 😀

Warburtons toastie loaf thick sliced white bread
Ludicrous amount of strawberry jam (with all the whole fruit bits dug out from the entire jar)
Large amount of bread crumbs and jam left on kitchen worktop
Large amount of bread crumbs and jam left on kitchen floor
Large amount of bread crumbs and jam left on front of cutlery drawer
Large amount of unused cutlery smeared with jam
No plate
Eat on mum's best arm chair
Smear any remaining jam onto remote control and inside DVD boxes
Brush crumbs from pajama trousers onto carpet

Yes, I am only 7.

I had a doner kebab on Friday night on my way back from the boozer 😳

My mouth was in a fetid state on Saturday morning. I even ordered extra chilli sauce I'm told (shudders)

Mr Woppit - good try but ruined by the addition of Jarlsberg. The Norwegians are incapable of making cheese at the best of times, and putting Jarlsberg in a bacon sarnie is just plain wrong.

Oh go on - try it. The point about the Jarlsberg is that it's a mild but smokey taste, so (unlike using Cheddar) it will add a further savoury edge without overpowering the bacon. Trust me, it works.

"Yorkshire Tea" is a trade name.

Either bog-standard mature cheddar and pickle for lunch or either curry or lasagne sandwiches for evening savoury.

Sweet sandwiches have to be cheese and marmalade 🙂

It is based just behind Morrison's between Harrogate and Knaresborough - obviously they don't grow the tea there. That's where the poncy marketing department made up the claims that the tea is blended in a way that is perfect for Yorkshire Water. They aren't specific about which part of Yorkshire the water is assumed to be from though.

Easy - you can work wonders with GM foods nowadays - soon have a set of trotters whacked on a chicken.

Home made white (3/4" slices), Bacon (unsmoked, thin cut, 3 rashers), egg (large, runny yolk), real butter, ketchup (applied liberally).

If you're hands are clean afterwards you've done it wrong.
