C’mon … is this bloke Darroch assessing the situation based on hearsay? Even if it is hearsay, I mean does he know how to write in a diplomatic language without causing a stir or was it a deliberate action? Crikey.

Don’t be obtuse, Darroch is stating what he’s been hearing directly from people within the US government who, as ambassador, he has direct contact with, and as I pointed out above, he’s not alone in his assessments, ambassadors of other countries are saying exactly the same.
The private cable was deliberately and maliciously released by someone in our government out to cause a shit-storm.
But I’m sure you’ll misquote what I’ve just posted, in order to suit your agenda as Agent Orange’s UK promoter. 🙄
