[#2626373]

Walking along the river today we stumbled across an ice cream van. One look at each other, and we were off at a run towards it. We pushed aside the small children que-ing... Obviously She had some ridiculous flake based nonsense that had sprinkles and sauce (I ask you ๐Ÿ™„ ) Whilst I was amazed to see you could still get these!!!

[img] [/img]

OMG. I used to get these when I was about 6!!

surely the best? and of course you get to look cool, chewing your piece of bright blue bubble gum. AND you get a blue toungue!!

surely one of man's greatest creations?

Hang on, aren't you like 18 or something? I was eating twoball screwballs when I was 7 and they were 10p I think.

EDIT 8p, and 10p with an extra bubblegum.

the problem with Ben & Jerry's, is it's trying too hard to be "different".

I mean marshmallows in ice cream? uncooked biscuits? nuts are bad enough but somewhat traditional. And then there's the price...

not convinced.

we have some Haagen Dasz vanilla in the freezer. it can bloody well stay there, that's overrated as well. watery.

Ben and Jerry's is good for mass produced but you can't beat a small producer.

but you can't beat a small producer.

Yes you can. Just because you're small doesn't automatically make your ice cream good, as I can testify.

Of course, this is STW, and people really DO seem to believe that the fewer people that have heard of something the better it is.

I'm not sure that was my claim grips in fact I know it wasn't. Small producers of most things tend to be better but of course your right some are crap. But a good small producer is way better than a good mass producer, which was my point.

Or the stuff at The Bench in St David's, although the proprietor is a bit of a knob.

Or my local - Stewarts Tower or Janettas in St Andrews

Twoball screwball was aways bonus but a good rum and raisin always goes down well. Near Windmere boat bit, or is it Bowness, anyway, there is a place that does Grannies Apple Pie icecream, lovely ๐Ÿ™‚

Raisins are yummy - not at all like rat poo.

Rum on the other hand is awful, and rum and raisin anything is nasty.

Btw have any of you lot been to a Culvers?

Molgrips - You shouldn't be on this thread! Unless it's your cheat day of course.

emsz - you're supposed to want this crisis too. Now you're saying you're going to get drunk, then be sick on me. I don't feel special anymore....

Good to see Hockings mentioned!

i happen to work for them and it never fails to amaze how many people from all over the country seem to know it or remember it from holidays in North Devon!

Is a compulsory stop en route to my parents, even the dog knows when we approach and gets all excited!

Eithe there or Bluebells in Spondon, Derby as recently approved by Prince Charles
