I have a few gay friends, all of whom are "straight acting" a term in its self that is odd as it some how implies that there is a set "gay way" of acting, which in its self is odd. But that's not my point...

..why the Gay lisp? its more like an accent sometimes, but its not of a country, its of a lifestyle. Does the culture that you live in have a bearing upon your accent? I know of a few people who have returned from Austrailia and spoken for a while with an Antipodean twang, is it the same thing do you think? That people carry accents as it would have originally identified what tribe you belonged to?

Personally I'm not a fan, for example; the voice of Louie Spence is like polystyrene down a blackboard to me, but why? oh, and why is everything "fabulous" is it? is it really?

I suspect the word 'affected' is used for a reason.

The two gay blokes I work with have on seperate occasions both referred to gay guys who do the lisp and the "fabulous" as f***ing fags" - go figure!

This is something I was discussing with my wife last night whilst watching the gay couple on Relocation, Relocation.

I know loads of gay couples who talk perfectly normally, but likewise straight people who camp it up meerly because they are Thespians. 😕

Whilst we are on this, does anyone know any really fit lesbians?

Only ones i've met have been less than stunning to put it mildly, seen quite a few fit ones in films tho.

Like many people 'Lesbians' don't tend to advertise their sexuality.

How many hetrosexual men do you see grabbing their crotches whilst wearing tshirts 'I love muff' walking around? 🙄

In your office can you confidently say how many are straight and how many are gay?

I think "affected" is right, but there's an element of the tribe / culture thing. I tend to go camp when I've had a few, particulalry if I'm grumbling about Mr. Toab.

Sometimes at the pub or something I'll play up to it, but that's really just for comic effect.

(Although TBH it's pretty fabulous being gay, Dahlings!

Most lesbians tend to be pretty ugly as they tend to be the ones who can't get a man and are looking for some alternative.

Sounds like Channel 4 has gone drastically downhill. Shirley that's illegal.

Rubbish. Well, it is according to all the porn films I've seen anyway.

I don't think that's true. Short cropped hair, clothes like a bloke. (We were just talking about the token lesbian in our company and what a sh1t ie.aggressive, driver she is.) But she definitely dresses in a certain way which makes her sexuality obvious.

no, just like 90% of the other threads on this forum. Not sure that's a problem though.

DezB, some people advertise their sexuality as there is nothing else about them of interest or note... whereas most people treat their sexuality as part of their overall identity.
