What should it feature. What is a big fat no? Toast AND fried bread? Where should it be bought? And is an 'all day breakfast' blasphemy?
Discuss...
I say, sausage, bacon, 2 types of egg (fried and scrambled), black pudding, toast and grilled tomatoes.
No filthy fungus and beans have no place at breakfast...
Let's have this out!
Haggis.
Oops thoughts you said a proper breakfast 🙂
Ok. Sausages - Cauldron ones are best. Poached or boiled egg, grilled tomato (with the green end bit cut out before cooking) beans, hash brown, brown sauce. Bit of toast with marmalade. Strong black coffee.
Normally just eat 5 boiled eggs though 🙁
Sausage x 2
Bacon (smoked) x2
Hash browns x2
Scrambled egg (not rubbery)
[s]Bit of haggis[/s]. Sorry, you said English.
Well done baked beans, slightly mushy
Thick white toast, real butter
Orange juice
Tea in a pot
Newspaper
And none of that Welsh seaweed and pickled molluscs either 😉
No filthy fungus
AMEN, BROTHER!

When we were kids, my little brother used to cycle 9 miles every Saturday morning to our Nan's house to get his breakfast..
It consisted of
2 bacon
2 sausage
2 lamb chops
1 pork chop
2 fried eggs
fried potatoes
fried mushrooms
fried tomatoes
fried beans ( 😯 )
toast
coffee
not too shabby for a 12 year old.. he's a fat knacker now some 30 years later
Hash browns are an abomination in a traditional English Breakfast.
Bacon
Sausage
Fried or poached egg
Fried slice or toast
Beans
Tomato
Mushrooms
Black Pudding
Anyone that puts a grilled tomato on a fry-up wants a kick in the marbles....
Proper tinned tomatoes - it's what the bread and butter is for mopping up!

I don't think that I could even eat all the sausages in rattraps picture!
tomato ketchup is wrong and hash browns are a cop out - and fried bread is unnecessary, just brown toast thanks
but I like mushrooms, grilled tomato is preferred to beans and gotta be coffee, haggis is the best
mmmmm think me and smallperson are going to a cafe tomorrow!!
Lava bread and thick cut dry cure bacon with black pudding
Ho yes add anything else you fancy
The best full English, is the one cooked unrequested by someone else!
For the record, if she ever read STW, quality sausages, bacon, poached egg, beans, fried potatoes, mushrooms
Bothy breakfast:
Those square Warburtons wrap things or a toasted pitta bread stuffed with bacon, chipolatas, fried egg, mushrooms, beans and black pudding. Plenty of seasoning too. Pint of tea.

Stop what you are doing. Read this. When a breakfast is this well written, it becomes the winner and is a truly splendid thing:

Sausages - best quality pork, grilled.
Bacon - again, top quality pork, grilled and crispy.
Scrambled eggs
Mushrooms
Baked beans
Toast (certainly not fried bread, that's just wrong).
A cafetiere of fine coffee.
A glass of orange juice, freshly squeezed.
Ways to ruin a cooked breakfast are to use cheapo nasty meat or instant coffee. Either of these sins should be punishable by death.
Having cooked sausages, bacon, black pudding, toast, eggs, mushrooms, fried bread and tomatoes for some friends who'd stayed overnight, I put a small pan on the hob for scallops. They spat slightly, and the whole pan caught fire. I ran out of the (open) back door carrying said blazing pan - and in doing so caught my big toe on the edge of the open door, trying in effect to kick it up the garden - ouch). Ian, one of the aforementioned house guests, commented that he'd never before been served breakfast with 'scenes of mild peril' !
Definitely no hash browns. But scallops with bacon go so well. Sadly on that occasion I chucked them up the garden along with the blazing pan.

I quite like it smaller or simpler these days - bacon & egg or sausage egg & beans.
Get down wetherspoons and have the big breakfast a large latte with extra toast, free news viewing and free wifi aaaand no washing up after hey presto!!
There is nothing worth eating in Weatherspoons

Tomato x 1
Fried bread x 1 round
Fresh black coffee
Toast, butter & homemade marmalade
Dump
Post ride breakfast
Seeing theres plenty of experts here - whats the best way to make fried bread?
Partial to the Full Welsh we used to get down at Swansea Market when I was a student there. Bacon, pork and leek sausage, eggs, fried potatoes, laver bread (ie seaweed) and some fried cockles (seriously). Awesome after a big night out.
For fried bread, my dad's technique was to grill the bacon, wiipe the bread in the resulting fat in the botton of the grill pan and then grill it. Thereby negating any possible health benefits of grilling the bacon in the first place. Darn tasty though.
BURY black pudding FTW.
What's with the hash browns guys? You'll be shoving pancakes and maple syrup in there next.
Fried cockles? Holy sh1t.
whats the best way to make fried bread?
Fry all dead animal first. Use the fat in the pan to fry the bread. Make sure you quickly flip it over so both sides absorb the life-giving fat evenly.
I prefer to cut the slices in half before frying for ease of handling and more even cooking.
Hash browns are an American abomination, the proper potato based accompaniment is:
Bubble and Squeek
Bacon
Sausage
Fried Egg
Black pudding
Tinned tomatoes or baked beans
Toast and butter (clearing the bean sauce or tomato juice)
Tea in a large mug
Fried bread, dip the bread in the fried/grilled animal fat on both sides and then put in a dry frying pan to crisp on the surface. (It should not spray the room with shrapnel when cut into).
Left over curry/kebeb/chinese/pizza or combination of any or all of these, nuked to enamel melting temperatures and served with tea strong enough to stand a spoon in.
