I'm at the point of giving up on finding a new job right now.
Passed my HGV test at the end of May and as you'll have all seen there's a massive shortage of drivers so you'd think getting work would be easy right? No. Over 40 applications sent, only 2 interviews and no job offers. I've even tried the agency route and after 2 weeks I've had one shift with a company that was utterly crap (local multi-drop, maximum hours, loads of handballing, non-existent customer service) and have just come back from going to a job for the second day in a row where the agency have sent me but the company yesterday didn't request an agency driver and today they needed one but had paperwork for someone else who also turned up so I got sent home. A complete and utter waste of my time and I'm at the point where I'm ready to give up and take a shitty job in a warehouse that would need me to work 6 days a week just to cover my living expenses and drive me nuts as I hate being indoors for multiple hours.
Don't know which direction to turn right now.
Where are you based?
