One of The Boy's presents was one of these. The box was opened with much excitement, thankfully with some degree of care as well.

Charged up, and off he went to zoom it around the garden. Minutes later, there were tears at the door. "I can't make it go properly!"

The steering controls are wired up the wrong way! Push the controller to the right, the car goes left and vice versa.

To his credit, he took it pretty well, and thankfully we're going to be able to exchange it for a replacement one. Fingers crossed.

Unsurprisingly, tried that. His little paws can't hold the controller properly if it's upside down!

Does it have a switch for reversing the channel on the controller? Probably next to a trim pot?

Thanks, but it's not at that level of sophistication!

I bet you could fix the steering, perhaps the arm on the servo is in the wrong orientation.

Typical man responses trying to fix the op's problem, when all he wants is for us to listen.

Is the cable to the steering servo reversable? Ie turn it around and that should sort out the steering.

Check inside the battery compartment for a servo reverse switch.

Failing that it could be the linkage is upside down or if it's just got 2 wires to the servo motor they could be the wrong way round.

Garmin instinct not counting flights of stairs properly 🙄 My Garmin watches usually last at least 3 months before going wrong ☹️

And a pair of climbing shoes for Junior 2 turned out to be both left feet - off to Tiso to sort those out now.

I had a long argument with some Gearbest drone over this issue. Didn't get anywhere.

Lonsdale punch ball and fingerless punching mits for the eldest (17). Lasted all of about 10 mins before the bar bent and the gloves ripped. Looks like we need a much heavier bag (indestructible) hung in the garage.

The youngest,s Man City kit didn’t seem to work right either over the park earlier.

One of them Halfords 1600lm lights. Doesn't switch on.
Pair of bluetooth earbuds with a permanent crackle, though I haven't tried them with another phone yet to confirm it's definitely the buds and not the handset.

Slightly annoying, but both easily remedied.

Main gift from the boys was a book - which I'd already read.

Bwahahahahahahahah......... oh, I fear my sides should split!
I’m pretty sure he OP would be chuffed to bits to find a quick and easy solution that would result in the lad having a working toy to enjoy, rather than having to wait for a replacement. I know I would.

We bought a hover board for our kids to share. Charged it up over night ready for the next day to find it blinks once when you turn it on and nothing else. It’s going back tomorrow.😤

Last year all my son wanted was chip the robot bastid dog.
It worked for 2 hours.
Exchanged it , the replacement didn’t work, the replacement replacement also didn’t work.
I fear the disappointment in Santa may have scarred him for life.

Lonsdale is Sportsdirect you’re lucky it lasted that long.

Climbing shoes sorted - an apology would have been nice though. And the watch has started acknowledging that I am climbing the wooden hills.

In reply to the op. There should be little switched on the transmitter. The steering ones probably been knocked to reverse.

Thanks, but as above, it's not that sophistication a piece of kit. The controls are two toggles and nothing else. There's a steering balancer (If that's the word!) underneath between the front wheels, but no way of changing anything else. As above, suggestions much appreciated, but ultimately in vain.

Meccano F1 car with a missing bit!

I reckon if you just reverse the + and - wire on the steering it'll sort it though.
