Ok, so i've got the big HD ready telly & the surround sound system with added DVD player.
Thought it was ace, then the G/F brought her PS3 thing round with it's inbuilt Blu-Ray player - i'm hooked!
How much for one?
Can you buy a combined Blu-Ray/DVD player?
Is it going to turn out to be another Betamax system?
ALL blue ray players should play normal DVD's and should upscale them so that they look good on the HD telly - not as good as a blue ray DVD but better than what you were probably looking at. As for standards - it's all sorted now - SONY won AGAIN so most if not all manufactures use the same standard.
Ooh, wasn't aware that the machine will play both formats, looks like an even better investment now - cheers!
PS3 is one of the best Blue-ray players there is.
Plus you can get PlayTV and turn the PS3 into a hard disk recorder, etc
PS3 is hers though, i've no interest in a games console - don't use 'em.
A mate of mine is busy turning older PS2's (i think) into storage devices as well.
