Currently paying £10 a month for unlimited texts and 100min from 3, who are rubbish.

Does anyone have any experience of using cashback schemes, are they easy enough to do as long as you remember to get paperwork posted off? I've found a nokia 5800 for £12.50 a month with 600min and unlimited texts from mobiles.co.uk, seems I'd be daft not to, or is it a case of being "too good to be true"?

The schemes tend to be designed to make it as easy as possible for you to fork it up. Some of the schemes have proven to be unstainable for the companies running them and they've gone bust, leaving the customers with the contract but not the cash back

If you are going to go for it use it as a way of getting something you can afford for less, not a way of trying to bag something you couldn't afford without the cashback. That way if it goes tits up you're covered

My gf's done it, but you do have to be careful to do everything within the correct timescales etc to get the cashback.

A small hijack...where is the cheapest place to get a Nokia 2700/2730 on Voda PAYG or sim free? Its available for £35 promotion on Tesco Mobile, but it can't be unlocked. Can't find anywhere that comes close 🙁

you dont know how lucky you are...here in Switzerland if i wanted a contract phone, i pay for the phone (nearly the same price as if i took it PAYG), then i pay the monthly fee and plus i pay for all of the calls and sms's...

its really a system that i dont understand..

I've been on O2 PAYG for nearly a decade. I'm happy with my 300 free texts and £10s worth of credit a month, I'd like some free tinternet but the leap in costs seems to be fairly good. And I want to stay O2 because I'm always the person, in my circle of friends, who has signal everywhere, in the basement, inside giant faraday cages of supermarkets etc, when no-one else does.

go onto money supermarket dot com and see deals with phones 4 u you van never find them on thier own sit but they give you a link. I and the missus have been doing cashback deals for last 3 years no problems, cant beat it for value, you just have to be very organised with sending bills in. They are counting on you stuffing up one bill and whacking you with the lot for 3 years. That said we havent and they text you to say they have recieved your bill. contracts have been with vodaphone

I'd heard about the schemes folding, the one im looking at is owned by car phone warehouse so guess they'd have to go tits up first.
