Also that 'Tactical Voting' website linked earlier is telling me to vote Labour to keep out the Tories and Reform, despite polling showing both the Lib Dems and Greens are far more likely to get in.Â
Similar for me, Lib Dems were always the threat to Tories in my area, but that site suggested Labour in the last election. Result: Tory - Lib Dem - Labour came 3rd. If they had instead swayed a few voters to the Lib Dems, we may have one fewer Tory MP.
3. No idea who he is. I hate to break it to you but EVERYTHING is about money.Â
He's a local businessman who's done well for himself with an outlet shop, lives in Georgian style mansion that's about 15 years old. I also love the comments about the money, in one breath the nimbys complain the wind turbines produce very little electricity and don't pay for themselves whilst in the next breath wanging on about all the money some private investor is making. Can't have it both ways.Â

In this particular case, it's mostly about the owner. Hebden floods, boringly routinely, lots of the water that comes down the valley comes straight off this particular moorland, he isn't interested in doing anything about it. TBH fair to the locals, he is a comic-book villain of a man, and seems to take perverse delight in acting like one.Â
Agreed, I think hes referring to the Calderdale Energy Park, that had loads of nimbys complaining and theyve scaled back the benefits it would bring.
Mrs Daz has been involved in the campaign against this, and initially I wound her up by calling her a nimby, but she's shown me loads of stuff about protecting deep peat habitats and their importance to the local environment, the contribution to saving carbon, the role they play in preventing floods (a big issue round here for obvious reasons), and their relationship to the local history and culture. It's absolutely not about nimbyism, and instead about rational objective arguments about the impact on local communities and the environment.Â
Well, I was not planning to vote for anyone at all this time but changed my mind and voted for the incumbents. In way, nothing change much and nothing can be changed. Council services are just about alright so let them continue. Â
delete, double post.Â
