Looking for a recommendation.

I seem to generate copious notes in a pad that include scribbles, diagrams, process flows and mindmaps. Inevitably they get snapped on the phone camera then when I can find the time they get tarted up (ie redone in 'proper apps' on the laptop).

I'd quite to like cut out the middleman and Im thinking of doing this on a tablet (prob android). I need to find an app that'll ideally do OCR and either export as vector graphics, or let me create stuff directly in the app.

Any recommendations?

Penultimate and Evernote worked quite well for me for a while. iPad only for Penultimate though which was a showstopper in the end.

I use onenote for note taking as it's cross platform and included free in the office 365 subscription.

One note works well for note organisation/sharing and has good pen support

Google Keep is handy for quick notes. You can add photos or drawings etc. Seems it can do some sort of OCR.

I use keep. It's pretty good. The syncing between devices is handy too. Can jot on one device and it appears on the other.

Due to having a critical piece of information and not being able to locate the note for about a year I started digital note taking. I have been using an iPad Pro 10.5 and the 1st generation pencil for about a year and it’s fantastic. The newish non pro also has pencil support and my feeling is this is probably sufficient.

Have tried good notes, Nebo, OneNote, Evernote, noteshelf (briefly) plus probably a few others edit, notability as well.

Goodnotes is amazing for importing PDFs, drawing and annotating but is only currently available on Mac OS.

Am considering going to OneNote for the cross OS compatibility but the writing experience isn’t as good and it doesn’t support drag and drop.

Often for a quick scribble I will just use the native notes app and then decide what I want to do with it.

I have gone paperfree this year because of this set up. Anyone gives me a meeting agenda etc I scan it with the camera, save as a pdf and annotate in goodnotes. Paper never lasts more than a couple of minutes.

Clear desk makes life a lot easier.
