I am, you may be surprised to know, about 60% Northern. Somewhere near Doncaster, as it happens. Which is odd, as I lived there many, many years ago!

🙂

I am 79% Northern, which apparently puts me somewhere around Hull. While I am proud to come from the salt of the earth, northern working classes, Hull FFS, the shame, me mum will never talk to me again.

25%! I blame the parents-in-law's influence who originate from Harrogate/ Knaresborough...

If they had come from the North, rather than a southern enclave, you could have scored higher.

70% Northern (Hull-ish). I've said before that Cannock has northern aspirations. That's why everyone rides orange 5s

5% and that's only because I've seen pictures of an 'oat cake' in a magazine so knew what it was.

7% - which I reckon is purely as a result of having ulcerative colitis which caused me to try oatcakes and drink bitter instead of cider

I feel sick.. The ways this disease can rob you of your dignity know no mercy

90% here too. I'm from Middlesbrough.
I haven't lived there for 15 years so I'm pretty glad I'm still a Boro Boy.

Whilst I know what an oatcake is, I don't like them. And I don't know what a pie barm is.

Now, where do I get my certificate and White Rose sticker?

Anyway, aren't Oatcakes a midlands thing?

I remember picking up my Roadrat from Swinnerton's (on the way up to the proper noth) on a Saturday morning, and seeing a massive queue, right down the street, for the Oatcake shop a few doors down. Thats about all they sold, oatcakes- needless to say we tried some and they were alright, not as good as the ones in the cafe on the Hardhurst Farm campsite in Hope tho...

Cheers,
Jamie

Off topic!

which I reckon is purely as a result of having ulcerative colitis which caused me to try oatcakes and drink bitter instead of cider

Yunki, I was diagnosed earlier this year, been taking Asacol and seem to be able to eat & drink whatever, tho I wasn't too good after a curry recently 😳 Have you changed your diet drastically? I ask because I've not been feeling as healthy as I did a few months ago, wondering if getting much more fibre in my diet might help?

Cheers,
Jamie

85% Northern - Somewhere around York.

Grew up in Wakefield, so I can cope with that.

Interestingly, the big arrow on the map is pointing nearer Tynemouth which is nearer to where I live now.

That'll do me, born and first decade in NornIrn, then Middlesbrough, Nottingham, Worthing(sorry) and Doncaster.

The question about bread goods could put folk off though, see:

It's really funny listening to my wife's uncle and cousins converse, he's broad Yorkshire and moved to Solihull where his two girls grew up!

Born and bread in Oxfordshire.

Apparently I am 90% Northern.

Maybe 10 years living in Manchester has had more of an influence than I realised. However, 'tea' has always been 'tea', not dinner or (heaven forbid) 'supper'.

I did venture North of Winchester once, but it was grim.
