Usefull information j_me but it was Gamestation not Game. Although I did hear rumours that they were the same company after Game bought out Gamestation.

Piss into a bottle and leave it for 2 weeks marinating to increase it's odour power.

Then empty the content of the entire bottle into the shop when they are closed or outside the door.

Sit and watch ... bet it will stink to high heaven.

Oh watch out for surrounding CCTV ...

Gamestation already smells of wee and/or horrid B-O, so unfortunately that wouldn't have any effect.

The solution is clearly to buy everything from John Lewis in the future.

Well, the marinated wee is far more potent.

Or if you have strong stomach ... collect some cat poo or wee ... that's the worst ...

Swearing at customer is Not on especially if the shop does not belong to you. If the shop is yours and you swear then you take your chance as they might not come back.

Admiralable, have you tried punching a wall in a manly way?
I've seen Tom Cruise do that it most films, and you can't get more manly than him.

I once weed through the letterbox of woolworths after some shabby treatment

Did you get shabby treatment from the cleaner? I'm sure it would have been a cleaner on minimum wage who would have had to clean up you urine.

Game do indeed own Gamestation and keep them open for people who don't have jobs to trade games it at. I worked at a Gamestation while I was at Uni. I got moved around a few branches to cover and can confirm they all smell of stale wee, wet dogs and sweat. I mean it's Gamestation what did you expect? If anything he was polite for thier staff. His manager would be appauld that you were not called something harsher.

Go back into the shop, line 'em up and clack 'em.

A wet one is better.

#Edit: only look up the meaning of 'clack' in the comfort of your own home or somewhere the profanisaurus(sp?) is acceptable.

In my experience of store managers and area managers, they will be annoyed at the staff attitude (at the end of the day, your lost sale has affected their ability to meet their targets) and I'm sure that the employee will get hauled up for it.

Unless it was the Manager 😉

I would post a comment on a forum and let everyone know what happened....

Doooooh 😉

Being young, drunk and full bladdered it seemed like a good idea at the time. After 25 years of reflection I have come to realise that a more considered course of action would have been to find out where the manager lived and pissed through his letterbox.

I don't want to let it go though. I wanna go all out.

I know what you mean Admiralable - I wouldn't let it go either.

I couldn't just "forget it" and get on with my life.......I would want a satisfactory conclusion to the whole dreadful incident.

I would start off by going to the shop when it was open and confronting the disrespectful and vulgar member of staff with, "now look here my man" and then proceed to give him a damn good piece of my mind.

I would also write a sternly worded letter to the press, of which I would send a duplicate to the head office of the company concerned. Finally I would seriously consider reporting the matter to a police officer .... I can't help thinking such loutish behaviour must probably have infringed a law concerning public decency. Good luck.

I don't necessarily agree with their views, but like my grandparents and great grandparents, I would be prepared to fight to the death to protect their right to make that choice.

This afternoon, I'm starting to wonder whether this country is still worth fighting for.

It's definitely worth making pointless posts on forums for, though, which is more pertinent.

What did you expect head office to do?

If I ran a company and one of my employees swore at a potential customer I'd come down on them like a ton of bricks. They'd be out immediately for gross misconduct.

Exactly. We'd have the same thing if one of us said the same thing.

Where's the pointless? I was just asking for advice as I felt like I'd reached a dead end. Not something you'd do then is it? Asking things on a forum.

Mumsnet is great for advice on stuff like this.
You might have to spice up a bit though and say not only did the man swear, but he had a look about him of someone who cheats on his wife a bit.

If you want to tell somebody who sympathises with you, and who cares that you were offended...tell your Mom.

Not me.

I'd have gone mental if someone swore like that at me, I'd kick and hammer on the doors and wipe the froth from my mouth on the glass.
I'm actually trembling with anger a little bit right now.

If they are a listed company, buy a few shares. then you can legitimately attend their AGM. Travel to London at your cost and turn up at their meeting. Then in AOB ask them politely who is the right person to complain to about this sort of thing, because as a shareholder it's your right to do that.

Pretty soon you'll be Chairman and then you can legitimately swear at all the employees.

Revenge: best served cold.

Looks like the stw bullies are out in force on this & a couple of other threads sadly. fwiw Admiralable, if it were me I'd simply go back to the shop & grass the guy up to the manager. Just today I heard that youth unemployment is at an all time high & I bet there are fifty potentially hard working and polite kids who'd swap a kidney for his job. Of course maybe the guy's dog just died, who knows, let his manager make the decision.

I like Mr T, but him and his wife were perhaps the most unusual pairing I've ever come across.

Talk to the Twitter bods.

If they get SM then should be run by someone who has an understanding of PR and Customer service and customer comms.

I know that Gamestation. One of the employees had just found out that his Mum had got terminal cancer and that it was hereditary. The drugs wouldn't work on him because of his HIV. His boyfriend had left him for a better paid cleaner in McDonalds and the local council were refusing to pay for writing off his car with a snowplough. He might have been able to handle it all if people just left him alone after he'd shut the shop up one local holiday. I suspect that a good telling off from a spotty faced 21 year old manager is just what he needs to get his life back on track.

Looks like the stw bullies are out in force on this

I can't see much evidence of "bullying" going on........just a range of opinions from "get a life and get over it and buy the xbox somewhere else would seem an ideal starting point" to "I would have opened the door further and asked the person to repeat what they said".

That's what happens on forums........people have a variety of opinions. Of course if some people are so fragile that they feel in some way intimidated by the fact that someone holds an opinion different to their own, then I suppose that it could be seen as bullying.

The OP asked for suggestions concerning who to complain to. Since he has already complained to the head office and they have said they would inform the store and area managers, there isn't exactly another 1001 persons he can complain to, accept maybe the individual concerned or the press.

He should have left all his problems at home in a customer facing environment I always had to. It wasn't a public holiday so they should have been open.

EDIT: I don't want to go to the shop incase it hinders or messes up any investigation they may be doing. I just wanted some help taking it further as nothing seems to be happening now.

Admiralable - I know that the Mail would probably love a story where a 9 year old is sworn at by a shop employee

but that would be a lie, so it's ok to lie but you want the death penalty for swearing!

Maybe just contact whoever you complained to in the first place and ask for an update.

On what evidence? because some frothing at the mouth nutter said it happened? I guess you would have a line up of all the staff that worked there and so the offended one could pick out the culprit.

Admirable I can say having worked for the company they won't care. There will be at present no investigation. What would be your ideal outcome?
