Mrs TLR wants a summer relaxing holiday instead of skiing, mountain biking, hiking or motorcycle touring in the alps. She wants to read a book in the sun for the first time. I don't.
So where can we go where she will have sun and peace and I will have biking or hiking or anything other than sitting still ?

Well, there's got to be lots of places in the UK, where she can just sit and relax, while you go and tear around the countryside. How about Wales, maybe somewhere like Llangorse; lots of riding in the hills and mountains, she can sit quietly by the lake, and there's a nice pub there. You can go and take a boat on the lake as well.
Just a thought.

Sardinia. Cheap flights, great food, nice beaches, good biking and plenty of history.

It's a perfectly passable outdoor lake thingy just down from Bourg St Maurice, drop here there in the morning ride all day pick her up. Job done
