Go to https://postimages.org/ on mobile or PC.
Upload image, you don’t have to create an account but handy if you do as you’re pics will stay live on the forum “forever”.
Press the Copy tab next to “Hotlink for Forums”
Paste that directly into here. You are soon done.
Now, if anyone can tell me how to quote small amounts of another persons post please...
Type [_quote_] and then copy and paste the text and then type [_/quote_] but without the underscores.
Such a shame Google stopped doing Google images, that was my go-to for photo hosting.

Yep, or you can press the bquote button, paste the text them press the bquote button a second time which closes the quote code.
A few less clicks/taps.

I use Google Photo for backup photo storage (also have them elsewhere online) with https://www.labnol.org/embed/google/photos/ to create the required link for then sharing on here via the insert/edit image tab. Previously used tinyurl but that stopped working reliably for me.

Your can post pictures directly from some websites, such as wiki, amazon etc. by right clicking on the image and selecting "copy image address" and then pasting that in the image box.

Very similar to Postimage is imgbb. I use whichever I remember the name of first when posting.
Both can be set to autodelete your photos after a set time if you don't want them hanging about in somebody else's database forever.
I use imgur.
Generally speaking, if the image URL ends in a .jpg or .png or similar rather than a block of hieroglyphic code then it should embed in a forum IMG link regardless of it's hosted unless the source site explicitly blocks hotlinking.
Some hosting sites have a BBCODE or 'forum' button or similar which generate code the forum will probably understand. That just needs to be copied as-is rather than an IMG link (because it's not an image).
Imgur image. Right-click the image, copy link, switch to STW, hit the IMG button, paste into the pop-up:

Note the difference in the URLs, the first is a .png so is best in IMG tags (but some sources may work without it). Slightly different results depending how you want it to look. The latter image is cropped but you can click-through it.

I have been using postimages. I do the same thing every time. About 30% of the attempts dont work. I dont get it.

Can we go into advanced picture posting now so I can check and make sure I am not being a complete numpty. This is my current process when I need to upload something to this forum:
1. Take photo, latest example is a shoe attached to a CB mallet for someone to look at
2. Go into Google photos on phone and press the Backup option (yes this could be removed if I had auto back up but I don't want every pic being backed up
3. Go to PC and open Google photos and download required image to PC
4. Locate desired image on PC and upload to Postimages
5. Take link from Postimages and put into STW chat box and press enter

But if I don't have the photo on the PC how do I get it from Postimages? It has to get there somehow, it doesn't just float there when I take a photo.....................................does it? Edit* Or do you mean just work directly from the mobile device?
Does your phone not have a web browser?
(This is one of the reasons I use imgur - there's a native app which appears on the Share list on my camera roll.)

That process only works 70% of the time for me
John: You either need to post the shared imgur link without using the forum's IMG button - just paste the link straight in to the text box - or you need to get the URL for the photo itself to put into the IMG tags.
If you paste the share link into the IMG dialogue then, as above, it won't work because it's not an image.
