I thought I'd do the crazy thing of searching for a topic before just posting a new one. Let's see what the most recent posts about diabetes are.ย

Hmm, it would be useful if we could filter that down to maybe the last year or so.

Yeah. Under 'advanced search options' you can limit the timeframe.ย

The search is not good, but that is at least something it has!

If you know the general idea of what you're looking for you can often get better results by using Google to search the site.

For example:

Nukeproof site: https://singletrackworld.com/forum

Then use the Google search tools to narrow down the timeframe.

I'm another one who uses the following in a Google search bar:

Search query site:singletrackworld.comย

It works much better than a site search IME

As above - use theย Advancedย button. You can limit timeframe, choose how to sort and whether you want ascending or descending order.ย

This may be a question for the sticky New Forum thread, but WCA's first post got me thinking. Why so many duplicates in the results of a search? He shows 6 results, but 2 of them are duplicates of others.

If I run a forum search for the word 'diabetes' in Titles Only, I get 17 results, all of them being the same single thread which does have 17 replies in it (there's a few other results offshot too)

Surely the answer should be just 1 result, not 17. Seems weird, or am I expecting too much?

I've been here since... I was a moderator for ten years and I stood down when I went mental maybe five years ago.ย  In all that time I've never known this forum have anything that resembles a useful search function despite repeated attempts.ย  My advice would be, use something else.
