Why can't I add an avatar (can choose file, hit upload, goes to a blank page and does nowt) and why can't I add tags?

Not sure why you con't upload an avatar. What is the file type and size (in kb and pixels)?
You've you uploading a reasonable sized file in jpg format it should work.
Alternatively, you can use [url= http://gravatar.com ]Gravatar[/url] and this site will pick up your avatar from there.
Tags are available to Premier users, so you should see a field below the reply form on this thread.

Yes, uploading a decent size (will check size and note below) have tried on my iPad and on my laptop (using chrome and Firefox)

Houns - you see that bit that says 'Tags' just above the 'send post' button - that's the tags bit 🙂
Tags option is there for me.

Tags are only available when you post, whereas they used to be there all the time.
Which is rubbish.
