Contemplating subscribing to the Mag again, wondering how good the IPAD version is, worth saving the £10 over print?

Yes, it is brilliant. You just download the PDF and suck it into iBooks and voila it sits there on your book shelf. The rendering is pretty good too.

Well it's just a PDF like, I found I went from the digi subs for the PDF up to a full sub as it just wasn't as good as the real mag. If however there was an iPad magazine version that actually offered more than the mag, I.e. Video and the like it would be great.

( presuming that they haven't improved things since I last downloaded the mag. ) 🙂

Out of interest, how does this one (friend's mag) look on an ipad? Don't think they do an ipad specific version so I'm not sure how good it looks not on a computer screen. I'm guess rubbish as it does not do the whole flash thing.

I prefer reading the printed ones, but the digital ones take up a hell of a lot less room on the shelf for future reference, and they're easier to search through a whole stack looking for a certain article too...

All issues are just PDFs, so iBooks and Bookman will display no bother. However, there are problems with some of the back issues. Quite a few of the issues have been saved out to PDF from Quark/Indesign as spreads which is very annoying as the sandard single page to view the tilt for spread view doesn't work as it should.

Better integration with related online content wouldn't require too much additional work.
