Well, I fully expected to have some impressive pics to add to this thread after a dedicated Aminita safari the other day..

But the cupboard was bare.. bad year for Fly Agarics..? Too wet..? Or was I too early..?

I spotted an awesome stand of 'shrooms earlier.. if they are still there I'll get a photo when I pick mrs yunki up from work later..

No pics I'm afraid, but got a few ceps today. Nothing like as many as last year though. Picked a big bag of Pied de mouton (hedgehog fungus),the other day though. Hope the Ceps are just late rather than a bad year.

earlier on in the year I had been (unintentionally) cultivating some. I then realised my MASSIVE slug problem was due to the raised bed that they were growing in being one big slug breeding facility so it got stripped and relocated.
I'm sure they were edible, but didn't dare try them.

Quiet year so far for me in seeking out all thing Mycological.
I did grab some up to fry and even the initial test cut didn't reveal to me they were yellow stainers. But once fried the revolting un ssshroom like smell advised me to NOT EAT them.

Redthunder, those up top are lovely Amethyst deceivers and very edible.

I've yet to get out properly with the little lens for photo's. but i've seen, Mica Caps and Sulphur tuft, yellow russula, Porcelain fungi, birch polypores, jews ears, yellow antler fungi, to name a few. Too busy watching Red Deer rutting.

I'll get out tomorrow and get onto it.
Here's just a couple i've taken this year

Orange peel fungi.

we came across a largish patch of Shaggy Ink caps on our regular dog walk. There were some fine specimens. I also found some kind of bolete that I couldn't identify - looked quite edible but didn't want to risk it!

On the kitchen table is a bowl of chopped, dried porcini that my wife picked last weekend. Not got a photo, but wish I could post the smell.

Pete68 - ah, we call them Boletus here in Czech. They make a lovely soup. Never thought of having them on toast, will have to try it.

Rather bizarre, but I have just walked past this in the garden and took a picture of it (I've never taken a picture of a mushroom type thing before!) and then came indoors and saw this thread 🙂

Loads of these (slightly out of focus) bad boys in Richmond park today. No idea what they are but they were big enough to feed/kill a family.

This chappy, glistening Ink cap? I think it is, reassure me before I eat it and die?

Still no sign of the Fly Agarics that I'd hoped for.. They'd usually appear in the same sort of area every year wouldn't they..? I'm slightly concerned that someone has maybe destroyed the colony.. 😐
