It's an idea that the wife is considering. Anyone on here have any sources of information or any advice for her?
so far as i know, unless things have changed very recently, in the uk everyone starts from scratch no matter what their background or previous training
No - there are definite conversion courses that save you a year or two and there have been for at least a decade.
No, some places do a 4 year post graduate course (although it is the same amount of work as the five year course just crammed into 4), Newcastle amongst them and a few places in London. Dunno where else though. It's hard work as you have to do 5 years work in four, but they assume that as you are older and a bit more sensible then you wont be hungover quite as often....
in my second year of graduate course in Nottingham, just joined with the undergrads for clinical phase (so now get called 3 rd years)
exams in 2 weeks then we're '4th years' :O
