Anyone know what can be use to stick stuff to car dashboard type plastics? I want to attach some velcro for some blinds in my van and everything I have tried so far has failed within a few hours.

The problem with most plastics used in car interiors have a lot of plasticisers in to make them fairly soft, and it’s those that cause the adhesive on stuff like Velcro to go gooey and fall off, leaving sticky gunge behind.

I also tried sticking velcro to the inner of my van for a midge screen over the side door. No matter how well I cleaned the plastic, then carefully applied the velcro, it would either fall off over time, or simply pull off when I was removing the midge screen.

The velcro is now stapled on.

I thought that may be the case. I am happy to screw on some sort of press stud, that may have to be the solution.

The blinds in our camper are attached with rubber suckers to the windows

Borrow a couple of toddlers and shut them in the car for a bit. 15-20 seconds should do it. Everything will be sticky for ever more.

3M VHB double sided tape. Ridiculously sticky.
I've never used it anywhere condensation might be a factor though. That said it is pretty much industrial grade, so could be just the job.

^^^ Hmmm. Can I borrow your kids to make my car interior sticky?

Can't see anyone having a problem with being asked that 🤣
